Shout Out
Miner Nation Shout-Out: EDHS Agriculture Earns Regional Honor!
Today, the El Diamante High School Agriculture Department was awarded the San Joaquin Regional Honorary Degree — one of the highest recognitions a program can receive at the regional level.
This honor is not given lightly. It recognizes programs that consistently go above and beyond in developing students’ leadership, responsibility, work ethic, and real-world career skills through agriculture education and FFA.
Our Ag staff has built a program where students don’t just learn about agriculture — they experience it. From competitions and field days to project supervision, industry partnerships, and daily mentorship, they are changing students’ lives and opening doors to futures in college, trades, and careers across California’s largest industry.
This recognition reflects years of commitment, long hours outside the school day, and a deep belief in kids.
Please join me in congratulating our EDHS Ag teachers and FFA advisors for representing Miner Nation with excellence and pride.
Mrs. Tucker Earns County CTE Award - Mrs. Tucker was honored for being the K-12 CTE Champion at the TKCCC awards luncheon. She was nominated by the VUSD CTE department for her exceptional leadership and commitment to student success. She has revitalized industry partner relationships, expanded internships, job shadows and certifications for students in the STRONG Academy.

EDHS Musicians Shine in Tulare-Kings County Honor Band
I’m proud to share that eight El Diamante musicians were selected for the Tulare-Kings County Honor Band, performing under Dr. Jeremie Arnold (CSU Long Beach). After just two days of rehearsal, they delivered a spectacular performance — a reflection of their preparation, talent, and dedication.
Students audition against top musicians from across both counties, so having eight Miners represented is a tremendous accomplishment.
Our Honor Band Students:
Clarinets & Bass Clarinet
Tobias Garcia
Christina Sperry
Nathan Yankes
Samuel Zavala
Mathew Huerta — First Chair Bass Clarinet (Freshman!)
Trumpet
Franklin Neer
Percussion
Jenavy Gutierrez
Nathan Saechao
A special congratulations to Mathew Huerta for earning First Chair Bass Clarinet as a freshman — an outstanding achievement at the county level.
Experiences like this allow students to collaborate with peers from across the region, learn from a university conductor, and perform challenging music in an accelerated setting. They represented El Diamante with professionalism and Miner pride.
Please join me in congratulating these outstanding musicians!
