ADMINISTRATIVE CORNER
Welcome to the last week of school for 9-11th grade students. This past Friday, we celebrated 472 graduating Seniors at Rose Stadium. The graduation ceremony was conducted well and reflected the splendid character of these students. They showed dignity and class while also celebrating one of the greatest accomplishments in their lives up to this date. We celebrate them and wish them the best. We know they are set up for success.
As we finish this week, our students will be taking end of year TIA tests. These tests serve as a growth measure for the year and as a grade in most classes. Students will need to perform at their highest level as we measure success in each class. We challenge students to follow the example of the Senior class and finish the year on a positive note. This is the greatest gift they can give themselves, their teachers, and their parents.
We are proud of all that you have accomplished this year and already have great plans to make next year even better here at Tyler High School. Thank you for your hard work students and thank you parents for supporting the campus.
Please see the attachment in this newsletter for our final exam schedule Wednesday-Friday and early dismissal times. We also have information regarding summer school for students who need that level of support. Have a safe summer and let's finish strong this week!

Tyler ISD Cell Phone & Electronic Device Changes for 2025–2026
Dear Tyler ISD Parents/Guardians,
Tyler ISD is implementing a new Cell Phone and Electronic Communication Device Policy beginning with the 2025–2026 school year in accordance with Texas House Bill 1481. This policy applies to all students in grades Pre-K through 12 and is designed to promote a focused, respectful, and distraction-free learning environment for every child.
Personal wireless communication devices—including cell phones, smartwatches, earbuds, headphones, and any non-district-issued device capable of sending or receiving wireless communication—may not be used during the instructional day. Devices must be powered off and stored out of sight, including during lunch, passing periods, tutorials, and transitions.
We encourage you to carefully review and speak with your students about these new rules, consequences for violations, and details on pickup procedures and fees: https://www.tylerisd.org/page/phone-free
Key Highlights:
All devices must remain off and out of sight throughout the school day
Violations result in device confiscation, parent pickup, and administrative fees ($5–$15 per incident)
Only parents/legal guardians may retrieve confiscated devices
Communication with your student during school hours must go through the front office
Students with a physician's order, or who have 504 or IEP accommodations, may have exceptions as documented.
We understand this change may require some adjustment, and we appreciate your support in reinforcing these expectations at home. By working together, we can provide a learning environment that prioritizes academic focus, student well-being, and responsible use of technology.
If you have any questions, please contact your campus administration.
Thank you for your partnership in helping us maintain a strong learning environment for all students.
STUDENT LUNCHES
- Students are NOT allowed to have DoorDash delivered.
- Student are allowed to have their parents bring them food only during their assigned cafeteria time. Parents are only allowed to drop off food in front office. (For instance, if mom brings food during A lunch, but student doesn't eat till C lunch...the student will not be allowed to go pick up food until it's their designated time.)
