A Message from the Principal
Dear Academy Families and Friends,
I hope you are enjoying this long weekend. April is now in full swing. This is the time where months turn into weeks and those weeks are filled with so many events. Spring sports return and with those longer days, time starts to race by! Please check the different sections below, especially the "save the date" section early and often to keep in the loop!
Just a couple of reminders:
- Thank you to all of the families that partnered with us for conferences. Your support makes a huge difference.
- Grade 5 ELA MCAS will be on Wednesday and Thursday this week.
- Tuesday-April 7, is a half day for professional development-we will hold the monthly ROAR Awards on that morning in the Gym.
- SEPAC has their big resource fair on April 8 @ 4PM. Please see the section below for more information.
- Report Cards for Grades 1-5 are available in the Aspen Family portal.
- Spring Running Club for Grades 3-5 begins after April break. A flyer will be going home this week for sign ups.
Thank you for all of your support,
Mr. Patrick J. Higgins
Principal

This Just In...
Just a Reminder
26-27 Bus Applications: Bus applications for the 26-27 school year will be emailed to all families in May. Outstanding bus fees for the current school year must be resolved with the school to prevent delays in processing bus applications for next year.
Panorama Spring Survey
This is a reminder that students will be participating in a Panorama survey again this Spring. The survey asks students to reflect on topics such as emotion regulation, social awareness, supportive relationships, feelings, and belonging, and takes about 20 minutes to complete. Since opt-out forms were collected in the Fall, no further action is needed unless your preference has changed. If you would now like your child to opt out, please complete this Google Form by Friday, April 17th.

April 8, 2026 Resource Fair
SEPAC is hosting their annual Resource Fair—their largest and most meaningful event of the year. This year’s fair will take place on April 8 from 4:00–6:00 PM at Maria Weston Chapman Playground (1051 Commercial Street). It’s a wonderful opportunity for families to connect with local organizations, discover valuable resources, and build supportive relationships that extend beyond the classroom.
Lip Sync is Back...Don't Delay Sign Up Today!
What is Lip Sync? A group of students will pretend to sing and dance on stage in costume to a song. Music will be provided by each group.
Who can participate? Groups of Academy Avenue students. In the spirit of friendship and cooperation, please accept students into existing groups and discourage students from excluding anyone. Each group must have only one Adult contact. The Adult contact is responsible for coordinating the groups routine, practices, and keeping other parents/guardians informed.
Due to this event's popularity we need to limit the number of acts. We will close this form once we have 33 entries
Registration Deadline is Thursday, April 30th
