Cal-Mum Classroom Monthly
November 2023
Welcome to Raider Country!
A Letter from the Superintendent
On Monday, Nov. 20, 2023, the District held a community presentation on the 2025-26 Capital Project. The video of the presentation can be accessed by clicking HERE.
The Elementary School scope of work includes STEM renovations in the library (Innovation Center); a reconfigured main entry and office to provide greater security; window, roof, pavement and boiler replacements; and auditorium and miscellaneous infrastructure improvements.
The Middle/High School scope of work will involve STEM renovations in the library (Innovation Center), a reconfigured main entry and office space to provide greater security, auditorium improvements, boiler enhancements, PA system upgrades, pavement replacement and miscellaneous infrastructure improvements.
The 2025-2026 capital project is a prudent long-term investment in preserving our facilities, and we have an established plan in place to pay for the work in the most fiscally responsible manner. As a result, project improvements will bolster the educational, health, and safety needs of our students with NO TAX IMPACT on the residents in our community.
Please vote on Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2023 from 12:00 PM-9:00 PM in the District Office.
Sincerely,
Robert Molisani
Superintendent of Schools

Students Attend Student Leaders Conference in Syracuse
The High School and Middle School student councils sent representatives to the New York State Council of Student Leaders Conference in Syracuse on November 20.
Students were able to take part in leader workshops led by three guest presenters: Lamar Womble, Lilyan Prado-Carillo, and Kyle Willkom. There was also a time for roundtable discussions led by various students from around the state. Ideas were shared to be brought home and used in the Cal-Mum school community to energize future school events.
A great time was had by all, and students are already looking forward to the conference next year in Lake Placid.
Third Grade Learns About Artificial Intelligence
On October 31, Mrs. Kosinski's 3rd grade class learned about what Artificial Intelligence (AI) is and some of the different things it can do. Then, students created their own creatures and used AI to bring them to life through movement!
Earth Science Class Heads Outdoors!
Our CMCS Earth Science classes have begun learning about weather this month!
Each morning, Mr. Howell's 10th grade students take a walking field trip outside. They read thermometers for air temperature, observe the cloud types, and estimate percentage of cloud coverage. The students also have the chance to experience solar insulation if they are lucky enough to witness some sunshine in spite of typically cloudy western New York skies!
7th Grade Celebrates Dia de los Muertos
Some of the current 7th graders taking Spanish with Srta. Sheffield signed up to decorate sugar skulls for Día de los Muertos during lunch and home base on Monday, November 6. A big thank you to Rachel Millar and Harley Porter, two students who volunteered to help make the skulls in advance.
