Linden Leopard Growl
Summer Edition
"Make New Friends, but Keep the Old..."
Welcome Back Message from Mr. Testani
Dear Linden Students,
Hi Linden Leopards and welcome back to school! To new students and new Kindergarten friends, WELCOME! You new Leopards should know, "I too am brand new." I can't wait for us to learn all about the many fun learning activities that make our school great together! Our Head Custodian, Mr. Bair and his team have been working very hard all summer to make sure our school looks beautiful for the start of a new school year. Your teachers have been busy unpacking school supplies, setting up creative bulletin boards and preparing their classrooms for you first big day on Tuesday, September 5th.
I hope you've had a safe, fun-filled summer vacation. My family has had lots of fun! We took a few trips the New Jersey shore. The beaches in Avon, Belmar and Spring Lake are beautiful. Our boys, Mateo, Domnic, Luca and Anthony LOVE to surf and boogie board. We also spent a few days in Ocean City, NJ. We all LOVED eating pizza on the boardwalk. The best part of this summer was our trip to Cape May, NJ. Relaxing on the beach and by the pool, Louie's pizza, min-golf, ice cream and walks to the light house - what an awesome week! My most memorable part of Cape May was visiting the Cape May Zoo. I thought of all of you when I saw a real-life Snow Leopard. SO cool!! Yes, summer was a blast but it wouldn't have been complete without spending some time playing with our two-year-old black lab, Kodiak. He loves playing fetch and chewing things he’s not supposed to chew.
I can’t tell you how excited I am for a brand new school year! I am most looking forward to the wonderful opportunities we have to meet new people. I titled this newsletter, "Make New Friends, but Keep the Old..." because to me, that is what every new school year creates. We all come from different backgrounds and experiences. This is what makes us all diverse and we can learn so much from each other. We will also be talking a lot about our Linden Leopard Code: Citizenship, Responsibility, Cooperation and Respect.
I look forward to seeing all of you at Linden's all-school Open House on Thursday, August 31st from 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM. This is an opportunity for you to meet your new teacher, see your new classroom, say hello to old friends and begin making new friends.
I’m looking forward to seeing your smiling face at Linden on the first day of school, September 5th. It’s going to be a GREAT year!
Sincerely,
Mr. Testani
