- The following is an important update to the current requirements for being a TVUSD volunteer. Effective July 1, 2026, California Senate Bill 848 requires certain school volunteers to complete annual Mandated Reporter training.
- If you are interested in volunteering, you will need to create an account through Keenan Safe Schools, complete the required training, and provide your certificate of completion along with your other documents when you submit your volunteer application.
- This information is also included with the volunteer information on the district website.
DON'T FORGET TO DO YOUR ANNUAL FAMILY UPDATE!
Any student who does not have a completed Annual Update:
- may not be enrolled in a class for the 26/27 school year
- may not receive a schedule
It is imperative that all families complete the Annual Family Update as soon as possible to prevent any delay in your child's enrollment for next school year.
Please note, this process is for RETURNING STUDENTS ONLY. If you have a child in your family who will be new to TVUSD for the 26/27 school year, you must complete the New Student Enrollment process. Click HERE for New Student Enrollment instructions.

Start Strong! Attendance Matters!
What is Average Daily Attendance (ADA)?
Dear Parent/Guardian,
We wanted to take a moment to explain an important term you may hear when we talk about school attendance — Average Daily Attendance (ADA).
ADA is the average number of students who attend school each day. It is calculated by taking the total number of days students are present and dividing it by the number of school days.
Why does ADA matter?
ADA is more than just a number — it plays a key role in how schools receive funding and resources. In many school districts, funding from the state is based in part on how many students attend school on a daily basis. That means when students are absent (even for excused reasons), it can affect the overall support our school receives.
We know that students may occasionally need to miss school due to illness or emergencies, and we appreciate you keeping your child home when they’re not feeling well. At the same time, we encourage families to make every effort to ensure regular, on-time attendance whenever possible. Every day in school truly makes a difference!
If you have questions about your child’s attendance or need support, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
Thank you for partnering with us in your child’s education!
Breakfast and Lunch Information for TK-5th Grade Students
ALL students in California schools are offered free breakfast, which is served during recess, and free lunch every day. Both are meals are completely optional, and families continue to be welcome sending their children with a recess snack and lunch provided from home. Students who are eating breakfast will be able to enter school around 8:30.
In order to obtain breakfast or lunch each day, students visit the cafeteria in the MPR. All students must enter a unique pin code that tracks food service usage, and students are strongly encouraged to memorize their pin code to ensure the lines move quickly when visiting the cafeteria.
SPECIAL NOTE FOR TK/KINDER FAMILIES: Families may want to consider sending a snack and lunch packed from home at the beginning of the year for TK and Kindergarten students so they aren't overwhelmed with the process of visiting the cafeteria.
