❤️Dear Barton Elementary School Educational Community 😄
It is with great pleasure that I write this letter of introduction as the incoming Principal of Clara Barton Elementary School! I hope this letter finds you enjoying the summer with your family and friends! It is truly an honor to be joining the Cherry Hill Public School family. I am thrilled to begin all the preparations for the upcoming 2022-2023 school year this summer and I am looking forward to meeting students, parents, and community members!
I am always eager to grow professionally, and I believe in lifelong learning! I graduated from Rowan University in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education (K-6) and a Bachelor of Arts in Writing. I started my teaching career in Waterford Township School District, where I taught both 2nd and 5th grade. My love for Literacy inspired me to return to Rowan University and complete a Master’s in Reading and Reading Specialist Certification (K-12) in 2016. As a Rowan University Adjunct Professor in the College of Education, I teach courses specializing in reading and literacy development. My desire to enter Educational Leadership led me back to Rowan University to complete my Master’s in School Administration in 2018. Over the past three school years I served in the capacity of Assistant Principal at Voorhees Middle School. The next chapter of my educational journey represents the culmination of all my previous educational experiences! Memories I will cherish forever as they have all left a lasting impact and shaped me into the educational leader I am today. A leader who prioritizes a safe student driven inclusive environment that meets both the academic and social emotional needs of our diverse school community.
I am looking forward to continuing my Educational Leadership journey at Barton Elementary School! I am an advocate for student achievement and instructional excellence. As educators, we have the power to build relationships that inspire children to believe in themselves. I believe ALL children can learn and grow! Working in collaboration with families, the community, and the dedicated staff of Barton Elementary to provide our children with a safe, valuable, and innovative Educational Experience is my priority!
I would like to share that I had a wonderful day visiting Barton Elementary before the close of the 2021-2022 school year. Mr. Sweeney was an amazing host and introduced me to some incredible students and staff. I would like to thank all the teachers at Barton Elementary for the warm welcome! I also had the pleasure of meeting with the Barton Elementary PTA executive board and learning about all the wonderful things they do to help support our school community.
In closing, please know that I value communication and my door is always open. I look forward to building relationships with parents/guardians and the Barton Elementary School community as we work together to provide our students with the best learning experiences possible!
