Weekly Hoots
#SoaringTogether October 23 - 27
From the Desk of Dr. Gantt
Good evening Wise Owl Families,
We have made it to the end of the first nine weeks. There have been a number of changes, but the one thing that has been constant has been the aWESome students who enter our building every day excited to learn, grow, build relationships, and make our school the best school ever!
When I arrived to WES, I received a number of requests to increase family engagement within the building. It has been amazing seeing families eating lunch with their students and walking through the halls. This past Friday night was outstanding. There were nearly 300 parents and students in the building for Movie Night.
I want to give a HUGE shoutout to our PTO for organizing and sponsoring our Movie Night. There will be dozens more activities for families to be involved within the school. Please be on the look out!

Rooms
Rooms is a two-way communication and messaging tool integrated directly with your BCSD app.
To centralize communication and to ensure a more "one-stop shop" method of communication from school to home, WES will move from Classroom Dojo to Rooms, which is aligned with our BCSD app.
We will be sharing more information with Rooms in our Thursday Folders over the next month with the plan to have full implementation by Friday, November 10th.

Our school clothes closet is in need of the following sizes: boys pants 6-8, and 10-12 as well as girls pants 10 -12. If you have any gently used bottoms that you would be willing to donate, please send them to Miss Gard or Nurse Denise.

Art to Remember Fundraiser
Greeting WES families, Friday October 20, 2023 your child brought home a personalized order form for an art fundraiser through Art to Remember. We have been working hard the first few weeks of school to complete these special projects that you will see front and center on the order form. You can scan the QR code or visit the website and view your child’s artwork on over 50 products! You do all your ordering online and can have the order shipped to Whitesville for free or pay shipping for home delivery. All products you order and ship to WES will be delivered the first week of December, just in time for the holidays! Proceeds from this fundraiser come right back to the WES art department for art supplies and special art projects. If you have any questions please email me directly at estepe@bcsdschools.net.
Thank you for your support of the arts at Whitesville and thank you for supporting your child’s creativity!
