Parsons Weekly Update
October 30, 2023
What's your elevator speech for your job?
I said if I had to encourage someone to go into administration, I would say that it is a job that is never boring. You should be radically pro kid because we are raising little humans. You need to have a passion for supporting educators and cultivating joyful, engaging, inclusive learning environments. You will be a community builder, problem solver, and communicator. You can be funny, silly, vulnerable, compassionate, and empathetic....all in the same day. You need to have a passion for service because as our presenter said, "If service is below you, then leadership is beyond you."
So, what is your elevator speech? What is your why? There are lots of difficult things about our jobs. We are in the difficult season of it-report cards, parent teacher conferences, etc. Keep your "why" close because it is our compass for how to do this very important work.
