Cooking Club and Basketball!
FES students in Grades 3 and 4 enjoyed participating in Cooking Club this past week! Our friends from Cornucopia came and spent a few hours in the morning helping us measure ingredients and cut vegetables and fruit to experience new tastes of some fall recipes. It was fun to watch these young chefs enjoy a special nutritional treat of their own creation. This week's recipe was a Kale Harvest Salad with Maple Vinaigrette dressing!
Another special event that took place was basketball camp in the afternoon! This week, with our Tuesday Veterans Day holiday, our Thursday 3-4 class students that had joined the club spent time learning how to work as a team. I was lucky enough to watch the group coordinate efforts passing the ball, quickening their speed and increasing their passing accuracy. It was wonderful to see how hard they worked to get the whole group in sync. Go team!

In Kindergarten we added the last vowel to our letter knowledge. In 1st grade we are working on consonant clusters at the beginning and end of words as well as words with double consonants at the end.
