Principal's Message
Dear Families,
I wanted to express my sincere thanks to all of you who participated in our recent reading night. Seeing our students dressed on the red carpet was terrific, and your collaboration with the PTO during the event was greatly appreciated.
I also want to thank you for your support with the grateful grams. This is an incredible opportunity to show gratitude and support our PTO. Our PTO president has gone above and beyond to promote this initiative, so please give her kudos when you see her around.
Additionally, we will have a second lunch with our students this week. If you would like to attend, please sign up for the event. However, due to limited space, we cannot accommodate extra families.
Furthermore, we will also celebrate the Common Cent campaign and Character Count week this week. Your donations will make a significant difference as they help others and show our students the importance of supporting various causes.
Lastly, please note that we will not have classes next week to celebrate Thanksgiving week. I hope you all take this time to relax, spend it with loved ones, and enjoy the festivities.
Thank you once again for your ongoing support.
Best regards,
Dr. G

Happy Sunday, Biomedical Families! Thank you so much to everyone who donated to our Common Cents Campaign supporting Greenspace Dallas last week! Although we are no longer collecting cash/coin donations, you can still donate electronically by scanning this QR code. Reminder that your student can participate in Character Counts Dress Up Days this week by making a donation (even a penny will do!).
Common Cents Campaign Fundraiser/Character Counts! Week:
This month, we are partnering with Common Cents Dallas to raise money for a Nonprofit selected by student leaders at Biomedical Prep! Common Cents is a student-driven educational program offered exclusively to Dallas ISD that empowers students to play an active role in raising money for their communities.
Our 2nd Grade teachers were asked to nominate six students who stood out to them as empathetic and compassionate leaders. Please congratulate this year’s Common Cents Student Leader team: Robert Cardoza, Emil Cohen, Aahana Kathania, Fromee Menegesha, Calliope Salvador, and Devin Steele!
These students have been working hard to brainstorm ways to help our community, research local nonprofit organizations, and plan a fundraising event for the whole school to participate in! They selected a great organization for us to support: GreenSpace Dallas. GreenSpace Dallas works to restore, develop, and promote accessible urban greenspaces along the Trinity River Corridor.

Winter Performance Information
Hello parents,
Biomedical is currently preparing for our first ever winter holiday program! Each grade level will represent a different holiday and culture celebrated during the holiday season. As we get ready for this exciting event, we ask if families could donate to help with props, decorations, and costumes. Any type of donation helps! Students will begin learning their music during music class with Mr. Bradford starting November 15. Links to the songs will be attached so that students can practice at home. The program will be held on December 14 at the UTSW/EEF Auditorium. We look forward to seeing families there!

Texas Tree foundation Survey- Cool School Program
As I have announced in multiple meetings, Our campus is collaborating with the Texas Trees Foundation for the Southwestern Medical District Urban Streetscape and Park Transformation project via the Cool Schools program. Given our school location in the Southwestern Medical District, they want to engage with us about the SWMD project throughout their community survey.
If you are unfamiliar with their project, the Foundation, the City of Dallas, and their partners are leading a holistic redesign of the Medical District. By engaging with the community for their vision for the district’s future and incorporating evidence-based design, the project will transform a 2-mile stretch of Harry Hines Boulevard (the Green Spine) into a greener, more vibrant, connected, and safer multi-modal linear parkway complete with a 10-acre Green Park at the intersection of Harry Hines and Inwood Road.
Please complete this 7-question survey where you can offer insight into the mode of travel preferences in the Medical District, programs and amenities they would like to see in the Green Park, and more.
Multicultural Committee
My name is Farra Kahalnik (mom of Emil Cohen, 2A) and I am the chair of the PTO's multicultural committee. I would like to get an idea of any parents that are interested in being involved in this committee. Even if you don't have time to be on the committee but are willing to contribute input or help plan an event during the year, I would love to hear from you! Thank you in advance for filling out this short survey.

I would like to remind you to review the uniform policy and ensure that your child is wearing appropriate uniform and footwear. This is to ensure their safety as improper shoes can lead to injuries.
Homeroom teachers will begin contacting families regarding this topic to better understand individual needs.

Crocs are not allowed as part of Dallas ISD uniform policy.
As the weather gets cooler, we want to remind you to label all student layers. Please write your child's name on the tags of their jackets or sweaters. We want to make sure no clothing items get misplaced and can be returned to your child.
