Next week, we’re honoring the amazing Mrs. Tylka and Mrs. Mizner, the heart of our school! These two incredible women make sure things run smoothly, greet every student with a smile, and support our entire school family with grace and kindness.
We’d love for students and families to join in showing appreciation during our Week of Thanks:
- Tuesday – “You’re the Sunshine”
- Wednesday – “You’re a Treat!”
- Thursday – “You Keep Things Rooted”
- Friday - “You Help Us Grow”
Students can bring in a flower, small plant, or hand-drawn picture of one to thank them for helping us grow.
💜 Thank you for helping us celebrate the ones who help us Root & Rise every single day!

Summer School Update – Waitlist Still Open!
Summer is just around the corner, which means it’s time to start thinking about Summer Discovery at Zitzman! Our initial sign-up window has closed, but the waitlist is still open and we’d love to have more students join us.
We’re very close to opening additional sections at a few grade levels, so if we get just a few more sign-ups, spots may become available. This is a great time to check in with neighbors and friends to see if they’ve signed up—and don’t forget about new Kindergarten families who may not have heard about our FREE summer program yet!
📅 Summer School Dates:
June 2–27 (No school on June 19)
Click the link below to get on the waitlist and stay informed about available spots. We’re looking forward to a summer full of learning and fun!

The Roots of Zitzman
April Pillar Focus: Resilience
Family resilience themed ideas to try this month: Building Resilience Together
Resilience is the ability to bounce back from challenges, adapt to change, and keep going even when things get tough. This month, we’re focusing on ways families can help children develop resilience through simple, everyday activities. Try some of these ideas at home!
Parent Tip Corner: "Let Them Struggle a Little"
It’s natural to want to protect our kids from failure, but small struggles help them build resilience. Try this:
- When your child faces a challenge, resist the urge to step in right away.
- Instead, ask: “What do you think you could try next?”
- Praise their effort, not just success: “I love how you kept going!”
- Teaching kids to problem-solve on their own helps them grow into confident, capable individuals!
