Great Oak - Newsletter Volume #1

Dear Great Oak Families,

As we welcome the summer season, I want to take a moment to thank you for your continued support, partnership, and trust throughout the 2025-2026 school year. It has been an incredible year of growth, achievement, and community, and we are so proud of what our students and staff have accomplished together.

Whether your student is enjoying a well-earned break, preparing for their senior year, or gearing up to begin high school in the fall, we hope this summer brings opportunities for rest, reflection, and renewal. We encourage families to take time to unplug, connect with one another, and explore interests and experiences outside the classroom that spark joy and curiosity.

Here at school, the summer months are also a time for planning and progress. Our teams are already working hard to prepare for a strong start to the 2026-2027 school year. This includes updates to our facilities, refining our academic and extracurricular programs, and ensuring we’re ready to welcome our returning students and the Class of 2030.

Please keep an eye on your email and our school website for important updates throughout the summer, including details about registration, orientation, class schedules, and key dates for the fall semester.

We wish you a safe, joyful, and restful summer. Thank you for being an essential part of our school community—we can’t wait to see you in August!

Warmly,
Dr. Amber Lane
Principal

It is now time to for families to complete the Annual Family Update in the Infinite Campus Parent Portal.

This update is REQUIRED FOR ALL STUDENTS RETURNING TO TVUSD FOR THE 26/27 SCHOOL YEAR.

Any student who does not have a completed Annual Update:

• may not be enrolled in a class for the 26/27 school year

• may not receive a schedule

• and may not be able to participate in school business days in August.

It is imperative that all families complete the Annual Family Update as soon as possible to prevent any delay in your child's enrollment for the next school year.

As we prepare for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year, we are reaching out to families who may be relocating and whose students will not be returning to Great Oak High School.

If your student will be returning to Great Oak High School next year, you may simply disregard this message. No action is needed.

If your student will not be attending Great Oak High School next year, please notify us as soon as possible by contacting Mr.Carbajal at jcarbajal@tvusd.us In your email, kindly include:

• The city you will be moving to

• The name of the new school your student will be attending

This information will help us support a smooth transition to your student’s new school, including the timely preparation and delivery of their official transcript once we receive a records request from the new school.

Thank you for your attention to this matter and for being a part of the Great Oak community.

Students MUST turn their iPad on every two weeks so that it can connect to the internet and update. This will save them from having technological issues in the first weeks of school!

Dear TVUSD Families,

We are excited to welcome your students back for the 2026–27 school year beginning Wednesday, August 12th! Please make sure to regularly check your email for specific school site communication.

Teacher assignments and class schedules will be available in the Infinite Campus Parent Portal on the following dates and times:

• Elementary and Middle Schools: Monday, August 10 at 4:30 PM

• High Schools: Tuesday, August 11 at 5:00 PM

Please note: All schedule changes will be made based on specific school site policies. We appreciate your understanding as we work to ensure a smooth and consistent start for all students. If your student is able to view a schedule or teacher assignment through a third-party educational app prior to the official release date, please be aware that this information is not finalized and is subject to change until it is officially published in the Infinite Campus Parent Portal.

If you need assistance accessing the Infinite Campus Parent Portal, please contact your school’s front office.

Reminder: parents must complete the Annual Family Update for all returning students prior to School Business Days or the first day of school to obtain student schedules.
