Happy Spring Douglas Gardens Families!
We hope this finds you gearing up for nice weather! This stretch between now and the end of the year is important as teachers are moving and grooving through the curriculum. Knowing this, we can’t stress enough the importance of students attending school every day on time and staying in school through the end of the day. Every day and every minute counts at Douglas Gardens Elementary! As a reminder, our day starts promptly at 8:35. Kids who come in later than 8:35 start their day already behind (even if it is only 1-2 minutes), as their class is already started and focused when they enter the room. Routine is important to kids and being late can really throw them off. Students receive instruction right through the end of the day so leaving early can impact them negatively as well. As a reminder, we have Early Release days that are available to schedule doctor and dentist appointments. We are working very hard at DG to encourage our students to come to school every day possible on time. On behalf of the staff at Douglas Gardens, we want to wish all our families a wonderful Spring.

Weather Changes
As our weather changes, please ensure your student wears appropriate clothes for school. Shorts should be longer than the tip of the finger when arms are fully extended. Spaghetti strap tank tops, belly shirts, flip flops and high heels should be saved for home. Students need safe shoes for PE and recess.
