Student & Teacher Spotlight: The Power of Khanmigo in the Classroom
Earlier this week, Hobart High School's Mrs. Higgason and junior, Marin Ray, took to the stage to share with our teachers the power of Khan Academy’s learning tools. Marin provided the student perspective, demonstrating how students can use Khan Academy as both a tutor and a study partner. She highlighted the autonomy that Khanmigo (the platform’s Artificial Intelligence feature) gives students in directing their learning. Mrs. Higgason then explained the educational strategies, such as guided inquiry, that Khanmigo uses to engage and support students. Together, they demonstrated how today’s innovative resources can transform learning in the classroom. Way to #BEOP, ladies!

Tips for Beginning The Year!
#1: Schedule time away from technology.
Students need to relearn how to NOT use their phone for 30 minutes and move up to 3-4 hours.
#2 Getting prepared for school begins the night before.
Evening Preparation:
- Pack your backpack: Gather all necessary books, notebooks, and supplies according to your schedule.
- Prepare your outfit: Choose your clothes for the next day and have them ready to go.
- Prepare your lunch: Make your lunch and pack it, or prepare components of it.
- Set a bedtime: Establish a consistent bedtime to ensure you get adequate sleep for a productive school day.
- Prepare for the morning: Set your alarm, and consider placing it across the room to avoid hitting snooze.
- Relax before bed: Engage in calming activities to help you unwind and prepare for sleep.
Morning Routine:
- Wake up with your alarm: Resist the urge to hit snooze and start your day promptly.
- Eat a healthy breakfast: Fuel your brain with a nutritious meal to enhance focus and energy.
- Get dressed: Get dressed and ready for the day.
- Get ready for school: Brush your teeth, wash your face, and take care of any personal hygiene needs.
- Check your backpack: Double-check that you have everything you need for the day.
- Leave for school: Ensure you have enough time to get to school without rushing.
Bedtime Routines Are For All Ages
How much sleep do we really need?
Sleep allows your body to cleanse, heal, and prepare for the following day.
