By now, all students should have received a paper form or email regarding course verifications. Please go here for page 1 and here for page 2 to review before the deadline that is TODAY, April 17th.
The QR Code is linked here. Course verifications are very important. This is the last opportunity that you have to be able to change courses for next year. Naviance 4-year plans are no longer live, and although you may still be able to edit them, it will NOT change your course requests for 26-27 planning purposes. Follow the instructions in the documents linked above to approve your courses or make changes. The deadline for course verification approval AND course requests is TODAY, April 17th. Please note that all dual credit courses can only be removed and not added at this time.
Please talk with your counselor as soon as possible if you have any questions.
Students have met with their counselor, and course requests for the 26-27 school year were selected. You can view those by following these instructions:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1uyty2WPVsvfNOuaROdAk0H2eCU640IcN/view?usp=sharing
We have a new Senior Website! Please refer to the link below to learn about important dates and all things that pertain to the Class of 2026!
Students who wish to take correspondence courses or credit by exams (CBE) will need to meet with their counselor prior to signing up. By taking a course without a counselor permission, you are risking the chance of non-credit.
As we look ahead to the end of the semester, we want to share our policy regarding final exam attendance to help you plan accordingly. Final exams are scheduled for May 19-22. Please note that students are not permitted to take final exams early. If a student is unable to attend their scheduled exam due to illness or extenuating circumstances, the following process will apply:
- Reporting Absences: Your student's teacher will report any absences during final exams. Please notify the teacher if you know of a circumstance where you will not be in attendance. This helps us schedule your make up session for late May or June.
- Gradebook Updates: If an exam is missed, a "0" will be entered. This will significantly impact semester averages until the exam is completed and graded. If the exam is not completed, the "0" will remain. It is the family's responsibility to schedule it once the information has been sent out. An email will be sent after the teacher reports that a student missed the exam.
- Exemptions: To maintain exemption status, students must be present in class on the day of the exam. If a student is exempt but absent, a "0" will still be entered until the requirement is met over the summer. If the exam is not completed, the "0" will remain. It is the family's responsibility to schedule it once the information is sent.
- Completion Timeline: All make-up exams must be completed by mid-June. Once graded, updates will be reflected in the Home Access Center as soon as possible.

TWHS Art
The 2026 TWHS Art & Culture Tour NYC delivered a true trip of a lifetime, packing more into four days than most people see in years. Students explored world class institutions like the Metropolitan Museum of Art and MoMA, standing face to face with iconic works they’ve only seen in textbooks, from The Starry Night to Monet’s massive Water Lilies. They experienced history and culture up close at the Morgan Library, Frick Collection & Guggenheim, participated in a graffiti workshop working one on one with professional artists, and experienced Broadway by seeing the Tony Award winning musical Hadestown. The group also explored the city from the top of the Empire State Building. Students made memories they’ll carry with them for a lifetime and gained a new perspective on what’s possible in their creative journeys. This trip is one of the most impactful experiences the art department offers, and we’re already planning our next trip. If you’re interested in joining us next time, talk with your visual arts teacher for more information.
Please join TWHS Art as we celebrate our students’ exceptional success as they head off to compete in the State level of the VASE. (Visual Art Scholastic Event) competition on April 24–25 in San Marcos.
VASE is one of the largest and most competitive art competitions in the nation with more than 32,000 regional participants. Students compete by exhibiting original artwork in a one on one interviews with judges as they are judged on their creative process, concept and technical abilities. Only the top 10 percent of entries advance to State, and with over 1,500 entries in our region alone, the level of competition is extremely high. TWHS took home a record breaking 24 State qualifiers. We couldn't be more proud of the accomplishments and immense creativity, dedication and skill of our artist which have made TWHS a standout school for the visual arts. These students now move on to State, where they’ll compete for the chance to be recognized among the top 1 percent of Texas high school artists.
Congratulations to all of our State qualifiers, and to the TWHS student body as a whole, whose talent, dedication, and commitment to excellence are reflected both in the classroom and beyond.

CLINIC NOTES
Vaccines
If your student has received any vaccines this school year, feel free to send a copy or screenshot to the clinic at school so that we can update the record on file. You can also email it to aransley@conroeisd.net for the Senior Campus, or jvanroekel@conroeisd.net for the Ninth Grade Campus.
Immunization Records
If you have a graduating senior and need a copy of their vaccine record, please be sure to request that to be picked up by your student or emailed to you by May 22nd. We are not able to fulfill requests made during the summer, and we do not submit vaccine records to schools. Colleges and universities require an additional dose of the Meningitis (MCV4) vaccine that is received on or after the 16th birthday, and you may want to also discuss the optional Meningitis B vaccine with your child's doctor. That is a newer vaccine that is available to children ages 16-18, and it protects against an additional strain of the meningococcal bacteria.
School Orders for the 2026-2027 School Year
As you begin to schedule summer doctor's appointments or physicals, please be sure to have your child's doctor renew their school orders for the 2026-2027 school year. We do require new orders each year for chronic conditions that could possibly require management or treatment at school, such as:
● Asthma
● Severe food or environmental allergies
● Seizures
● Diabetes
● Migraines
If your child participates in an activity or sport on campus that requires a physical and also has a chronic condition, please submit a copy of doctor’s orders for the 2026-2027 school year with their physical form, and also have them turn in a copy of those orders to the clinic.
Clinic Website
Please visit our website! You can find information about medications, copies of blank medical forms, emergencies and illness, students with Diabetes, crutches and elevator passes, immunizations, and community resources by visiting the TWHS Clinic website at https://sites.google.com/conroeisd.net/twhsclinicinformation/home
SCHOOL NEWS
From The Library
All library books are due May 1
Please clear your library account of all fines for printing and lost books as soon as possible. Having unpaid library fees can block you from receiving diplomas and parking spots. You can find your library account (different than School Cash) in the Destiny Discover app on your SSO. It can be paid in the library with cash. If you need to pay online, please let the librarians know so we can add it to your School Cash Online. It will not show up automatically.
Finals & Attendance
May Finals are fast approaching! Please be advised that in order to minimize disruption during testing, if your student needs an early release from school prior to 2:00p.m., please send a signed note with them in the morning, stating the check-out time and the reason for leaving. We will exchange that note with an early release pass.
We appreciate your efforts in planning ahead. If you have any questions, please contact the Attendance Office.

Family Support Through The Welcome Center
We would like to inform you that the Welcome Center, led by Iytzia Cárdenas, has now been relocated to the Jett Center. However, she continues to visit our campus some days a week, mainly when she has scheduled appointments with families.
🧭 Her Mission: Guiding Families Through a New educational System
If you come across a family who may benefit from a one-on-one meeting with Iytzia to better understand and navigate the school system, please don’t hesitate to refer to them.
Iytzia is committed to:
Providing clear guidance and support
Helping families gradually access the information they need
Ensuring they do not feel overwhelmed or lost
🌍 More Than Just a Language Barrier
We often assume the challenge is only about learning a new language—but in reality, it’s much deeper.
Families arriving from other countries experience:
Culture shock.
Grief and loss from leaving their home country, family , friends , etc.
A complete shift in norms and expectations.
All of this can create confusion and uncertainty as they try to adjust. That’s where cultural and emotional support becomes essential.
👩🏫 Iytzia’s Ongoing Impact
With over 12 years of experience on this campus, Iytzia has played a key role in building strong connections with our families. Due to the growing importance of her work, her role has now been centralized, and she now serves all district schools through the Jett Center.
She identifies newly arrived families and reaches out directly—or sometimes is referred by families like you.
📌 How You Can Help
If you notice a student or family who seems to be struggling with adjustment, please:
Reach out to Iytzia ( 281-220-9527) icardenas@conroeisd.net
Share any relevant information.
Encourage families to connect with her.
Even a small gesture can make a huge difference in helping families feel seen, understood, and supported.
Thank you for being a vital part of this support network. Together, we can continue creating a welcoming and inclusive community environment for everyone.
