The Sheiko Weekly Update
Sheiko Elementary: November 21, 2025
PRINCIPAL UPDATE
Hello Sheiko Families!
We had another wonderful week of learning at Sheiko Elementary, and as we head into the season of gratitude, I want to take a moment to share how truly thankful I am for this extraordinary school community. Our teachers and staff pour their hearts into each day, and our students continue to amaze us with their curiosity, kindness, and hard work. I am sincerely grateful to serve as the principal of such a special place—your partnership and support mean the world to us.
Just a reminder that we have school on Monday and Tuesday next week. We will then be off for the Thanksgiving weekend and will resume school on Monday, December 1st.
Our “Big Announcement” for this week is all about Camp Tanuga for our fifth graders! If you missed the meeting, you can watch the recording here:

Our goal is for ALL of our fifth graders to attend. Hungry Howie’s pizza kit information is coming home today—each pizza sold adds $5 to your child’s camp account, and many students have earned a free trip to camp by participating. We’ve even had students sell 85 pizzas and cover their entire cost!
We won’t send out a newsletter next week because of the shortened schedule, but please don’t hesitate to reach out if you need anything.
Goooooooooooooo Lakers!
In partnership,
Blaine McDowell

DESIGN A BUTTON
United We Walk - Enter the Button Contest!
Attention WBSD Students! Design this year's button from your understanding of the theme One Dream, One World, One Walk. Students must include the “United We Walk 2026” between the margins. Deadline is December 1. More information here.
We always welcome parents/guardians to drop off lunch for their student. However, we will not accept food deliveries for students from vendors. This is a safety issue. If food is delivered from a vendor, your student can pick it up from the office at the end of the school day.
Thank you.
BUS ZONE APP
Track Your Route!
- The Bus Zone App is available for iOS, Android and web and allows families to track their student(s) bus along its route, to and from school. Families will need to have their student(s) ID numbers which are available in PowerSchool in order to log into the app and create an account. Check out the transportation page for details.
- As a safety protocol, the Bus Zone app will only allow families to see their student(s) bus route(s) only.
- Please download and complete the app: Apple App Store and Google Play
