The dedication to giving your students your best every day is a deeply personal commitment, often rooted in the memory of your own exemplarsβ€”a favorite teacher, coach, or school official. What motivates you to prepare and step into the classroom, day after day? Perhaps it is the memory of the demanding teacher who pushed you to work hard, the mentor who helped you tap into your creativity and flourish, or the coach who inspired you to "buck it up" and "tough it out." These role models defined the kind of impact you strive to have, shaping the very best of your teaching practice today.

As educators, we all encounter challenges inside and outside of the classroom, but regardless of these factors, you demonstrate determination and grit by consistently showing up. Our students rely on us; they look to us hoping for unconditional support and a champion on their best and their worst days.

Thank you for this unwavering commitment and for giving your all to this vital work, day after day after day.

"What Teachers Make," by Taylor Mali

There are days we just feel beat up. And, as the school year winds down, we are getting pressure from all sides. This video is a clear reminder of what we do, why we do it, and validates our role in students' lives. If this is new to you, ENJOY!

NOTE: Taylor Mali was a former Secondary Teacher turned Poet (notable, "SLAM" poetry), and strong advocate for the teaching profession. You will find more about him through a simple Google search. He was highlighted by the Poetry Foundation in April 2026.
