Intermediate - Mrs. Oliver's Class

Congratulations to those classrooms!

Medical Leave Medical Leave

I wanted to inform our community that I will be on a medical leave for a short couple of weeks. Ms. Dooley, our VP, is on campus Mondays, Tuesday's and every other Wednesday. In addition, we will have a guest (retired) administrator on Thursday's and Friday's. Her name is Mrs. Lyall.

I will return after the break. Thank you to all to a great 1st quarter!

Title 1 - Federal Funding Status Title 1 - Federal Funding Status

We still need nominees! We will need 5 parents!

If you missed our last Parent Club meeting, I announced that Lakewood will become a Title I school beginning in the 2027–28 school year. This begs the question: What is Title 1?

Title I is a federal program that provides additional resources to schools based on the percentage of students who meet federal eligibility guidelines related to family income. These additional resources can support academic programs, instructional materials, staff development, and other efforts to help our students succeed.

This year, we will begin the work of preparing to become Title 1. As part of becoming a Title I school, Lakewood will establish a School Site Council to help make decisions about how Title I funding is used. The council will operate similarly to our Parent Club executive board, with parents and staff working together to support our students.

A nomination form for anyone interested in serving on the School Site Council has been included below. Please consider nominating yourself or someone else who would be interested in being part of this important work.

We have an 92% completion rate!

We currently have approximately 90 families that still need to complete this process, which leaves us at 92% completion.

If we have any class that get's 100% completion, then that class will be able to pie Mr. Collins in the face. That potentially could be 19 pies in my face! The deadline for this is August 31st!
