It's all blue skies in Blue Rapids

It was a great week at Blue Rapids Elementary! Everyone returned from Spring Break refreshed and ready to finish the school year strong. This coming week, our 3rd and 5th graders will begin state assessments, followed by our 4th and 6th graders the following week. There is a lot of excitement in the building, as these assessments provide a valuable opportunity for our students to showcase their academic growth and abilities. At home, we encourage families to help students get a good night’s rest and eat a healthy breakfast to set them up for success. On Wednesday night, our 4th graders and their parents enjoyed a wonderful family engagement night filled with root beer floats and poetry writing for the annual 4th grade poetry book. It’s hard to believe we are already in the fourth quarter of the school year. It has been an exciting and successful year, and I look forward to watching our students finish strong.

Here are some upcoming dates to remember:

  • State Assessments begin - March 31st
  • Good Friday/Easter Break - April 3rd
  • Easter Break - April 6th
  • Board of Education Meeting - April 20th
  • Marshall County Health Department Shot Clinic for Students - April 22nd
  • Last Day for Colts Round Up - April 30th

As always, thank you for the privilege and blessing that it is to work with your children. My door is always open if you have any concerns or you need to visit.

-Mr. Staples
