PTA Weekly Update
September 16, 2024

October 21, 2025
Good morning Huskie Families,
We are in the final stretch of our Charleston Wrap fall fundraiser! With just 5 days left to shop, we are 75% of the way to our goal. If you haven't done so yet, now is a fantastic opportunity to check a few items off your holiday shopping list (early!) while also helping raise funds for our school.
Our next PTA Meeting will be held THIS THURSDAY, October 30 at 9:30 a.m. in the Multipurpose Room. We hope to see many of you there!
We are holding a breakfast and assembly to honor the veterans in our community on Tuesday, November 11. We're also in need volunteers to help with setup and tear down after the event. If you're available to help, please sign up here.
Don't forget to check out our website - it's a one-stop-shop for all things Spring Brook.
Have a good week!
Next PTA Meeting: Thursday, October 30
The next PTA meeting will be held on Thursday, October 30 at 9:30 in the Multipurpose Room at Spring Brook. All members are invited to attend.
If you cannot attend in person, you can also join via Google Meets.
Charleston Wrap Fundraiser Ends This Weekend!
We are in the final stretch of our Charleston Wrap fall fundraiser! With just 5 days left to shop, we are 75% of the way to our goal. The holiday season is just around the corner, and this would be a great way to get a jump start on your holiday shopping! The fundraiser ends THIS WEEK on Saturday, November 1st. If you haven't had a chance to shop yet, there are 3 easy steps to help you get started:
1. Register now as a participant at www.registercw.com using our school code (11280). All sales and payments are online; nothing to collect or turn in at school!
2. Invite your friends and family to support our cause! Share a link to our sale using text and email invitation tools. You can also share your link on social media!
3. Shop online and help us reach our goal! With over 2,500 gift ideas, there is something for everyone! Items sold will be tracked online for prizes, so no need to turn in prize coupons to teachers.
Contact Kate Kopp if you have any questions. Thank you for your support!
Volunteers Needed for Veteran's Day Breakfast on 11/11
If you are not attending, you can still show your support for our very own Husky Heroes by helping with set-up for the event. We are in need of volunteers the day before the event to set up the decorations, and a few on the morning of the breakfast to help with set up and clean up. Please sign up here.
If you are interested in helping pickup/transport food, please contact Marissa Kopp.
Community Relations
A Note from Our Community Relations Chair:
As the PTA looks for new ways to partner with the community to enrich the lives of our students, we are expanding our sponsorship program for events during the 2025-2026 school year.
If your family owns or is connected to a local business and is interested in sponsoring a Spring Brook event, please see the attached letter for more information or reach out to Ellen Muryan.
Upcoming Events
K - 2 Reading Night: November 13
Dough Raising: November 20 at Panera
Dough Raising Events are an opportunity to join with others in our Spring Brook Community for fun, food and a little fundraising. A portion of sales during these events are donated by our community partners to support the efforts of the Spring Brook Elementary PTA.
The next Dough Raising will be at the Panera by Showplace on 95th street on Thursday, November 20. Skip the stove and a sink full of dishes, grab dinner, and help support our school!
Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers Needed for Veteran's Day Assembly on 11/11
Our Annual Veterans Day Breakfast and Assembly is just around the corner.
Multicultural Day on 12/5 - Volunteers Needed!
Would you like to showcase your home country at this year’s Springbrook Annual Multicultural Day on December 5th?
We’re looking for parent volunteers to share their culture by hosting a table featuring a game, craft, traditional activity, dance, or other unique element from their country of origin. In past years, we’ve had wonderful participation, with countries such as Honduras, Korea, Venezuela, the Philippines, and Israel represented in the school gymnasium during the day.
Students are always excited to explore the displays, learn about new traditions, and gain a deeper appreciation for the diverse cultures that make up our community.
In addition, students will have the opportunity to create heritage posters to celebrate their backgrounds. Poster submissions should be turned in before Thanksgiving break.
If you’re interested in showcasing a country or would like more details, please contact the event chair, Brea Khalid, at brea.khalid@outlook.com.
We look forward to another amazing Multicultural Day — thank you for helping make it a memorable event for our students!
