Purposeful learning; everyone, every day!
I am...
P: Purposeful
A: Authentic
N: Never Finished
T: Trustworthy
H: Helpful
E: Excellent
R: Resilience
100% Accountable
We are here to support our students each day as they learn and grow! Purposeful learning for everyone, every day! This means as teachers, parents, and students, we must be intentional about finding the learning opportunities that are presented to us! We must also create the circumstances for that learning to occur...with intentionality!
We learn in class, on the field, in the hallways, the cafeteria and at home! Let's work together to make sure everyone is growing with each opportunity we encounter! Thank you for being my partner on this educational journey! I am certain that we are going to have the best year yet as we unlock our potential!
Respectfully yours,
Katie Rexford, principal

Jumpstart
Incoming 7th Graders and new 8th-12th Graders are Invited to Jump Start
Students who are new to Woodland Park Jr./Sr. High School are invited to attend Jump Start on Tuesday, August 18, to become familiar with the building, meet staff, and start the school year with confidence.
Incoming 7th grade students will attend from 8:00-11:00 a.m. and enter through the Commons from the Panther Patio. Students will receive a name tag before attending a welcome assembly. They will then meet with their Advisory teachers for a building tour, learn how to find their classrooms using their schedules, and participate in fun team-building activities.
Students in grades 8th-12th who are new to the building this school year should arrive at 10:00 a.m. and will participate until 11:00 a.m. After entering through the Commons from the Panther Patio, students will attend a brief welcome assembly before joining their Advisory teachers for a building tour and orientation activities.
No registration is required to attend Jump Start.
To help students build independence and become comfortable navigating the school on their own, parents are asked to drop students off at the Cafeteria Doors and return at the conclusion of the program. Parents will not participate in the orientation activities or remain on campus during Jump Start.
We look forward to welcoming our newest Panthers and helping them get off to a great start for the school year!
If you have any questions about Jump Start please email Mrs. Rexford at krexford@wpsdk12.org or Mrs. Eastman at meastman@wpsdk12.org
School Supply Lists Now Available
Families can view the 26-27 School Supply List and start planning their needs. Having the necessary supplies for school helps students start the year prepared and ready to learn. We look forward to welcoming our students back for another fantastic year!
If anyone would like to donate general teacher supplies or extra supplies for students, we can always use copy paper, expo markers, tissues, pencils, and pens! If you cannot purchase school supplies for the upcoming year, don't worry we can help! Just let our counselor, Ms. Stone (mstone@wpsdk12.org) know and we will make sure your child has what they need!

Starting the School Year

Student schedules will be available to see through Infinite Campus starting Monday August 10! If there is a concern with your schedule, please reach out to your student's academic advisor.
Academic Advisors
Last Name A - L will work with Mrs. Rohman...srohman@wpsdk12.org
Last Name M - Z will work with Mrs. Wiley...mwiley@wpsdk12.org
Schedule adjustments can be made up to the 5th day of school (August 25) and changes are only made to accommodate academic needs.
The First Day of School
On the first day of school all students will enter through the commons doors near the panther. Doors will open at 7:55 and breakfast will be available! The day begins promptly at 8:15! Please arrive prior to the start of the day!
Everyone will then move from the commons into the main gym. Students will be seated by grade and staff members will be available to direct them where to go! After an all school assembly, everyone will report to their advisory class and follow the schedule.
Click the button below to see the schedule for the day! It is going to be FABULOUS!
Drop Off and Pick Up
Students can be dropped off along Panther Way. We ask that vehicles move with caution as students are walking to the building. All students will enter through the commons doors and must show their student ID (after August 21).
For pick up, students may exit the building from various doors facing Panther Way (Clock Tower, Music Hall, Commons), please coordinate with your child on which door they will exit. The expectation is that traffic continues to move as students look for their vehicles. All students not involved in a scheduled after school activity must exit the building by 3:45!
For students riding the bus: Buses drop off and pick up from the Aquatic Center Parking Lot. Drop off will be between 8:00 - 8:05 and pick up is at 3:40, students should report directly to the bus at dismissal.
Bell Schedule and Green & White Day Calendar
This year we will have a 7 period schedule on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays and a block schedule on Tuesdays and Wednesdays allowing longer learning sessions for each class. Click the buttons below to view our daily bell schedule and the breakdown of our blocks!
Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions!
Lockers
Chromebooks
Our 7th and 9th graders will all receive their Chromebooks on Friday August 21 during Social Studies class. New students joining us in 8th and 10th - 12th grade will receive their chromebooks during Jumpstart or the first days of school.
Returning students in 8th and 10th - 12th grade should already have their chromebooks. Please plan on bringing them the first day of school! If you have trouble with your chromebook, you can see Mrs. Padgett in the Library!
Cell Phone Policy
We will continue to follow our cell phone policy from last year! Phones are not allowed out during class. Students may access their phones during lunch. While students can have access, I would encourage everyone to keep their phones off and away during the entire school day! Let's give our children the opportunity to be free of phones in order to give them the chance to truly connect with each other! Parents/guardians, if there is an emergency, call the front office at 719-686-2067!
Dress Code
Our student Dress Code is intended to provide students with a framework for how they will be expected to dress in the real world for their job or for higher education.
Students are expected to dress in a manner that fosters a respectful, positive, and academically focused environment. Students should exercise good judgment and be appropriately attired for the classroom. Any clothing, accessories, or body adornments that interfere with or distract from the educational environment are unacceptable. In addition, any clothing that shows images or text about controlled substances, marijuana, weapons, or alcohol are not acceptable.
In general, clothing must not be too revealing, undergarments must be covered, shoes must be worn at all times, tops must cover the student’s entire torso, and shorts and skirts/kilts should be mid-thigh length or longer.
Come dressed for success and ready to learn!
Closed Campus
We are a closed campus during the school day! The only time we allow students to leave campus is during lunch for Juniors and Seniors. At that time, we expect any Junior or Senior that is leaving our campus to check out so we can track who is in the building. It is their responsibility to return to the building and report to their next class on time after the lunch period. Off campus privileges for any junior or senior can be revoked at any time if they exhibit a pattern of tardies. Thank you for your support!
Fees before Fun
We have numerous course fees that allow us to provide the most robust learning opportunities with the approate supplies and materials. Class fees must be paid before dance tickets can be purchased! If you need assistance paying class fees, you can apply for free and reduced through Infinite Campus under meal benefits on the left hand side. We can also establish a payment plan. We want to support families while also priortizing learning!
Picture Day
Friday, August 21, 2026
School pictures can be purchased online at www.inter-state.com and will be shipped to the school in September and sent home with your student.
Use this code for the August 21 picture day: 0150FQF
Students will receive their student ID badge when they get their photo taken and will be required to show their ID badge each morning when they arrive for school. Strict rules will be enforced on picture day to include no hats, hoods, sunglasses, props, hand gestures, or silly faces. All students should have their picture taken! If you only participate in online learning, we still want a picture so you can receive your school ID.
Retakes will occur on October 6, 2026 so be sure to order your pictures soon so they arrive before Retake day.
If you have any questions about your picture order please contact Inter-State Studio using their "Help" page.
Board Game Café
We are opening a board game café in the in commons! This book shelf will be stocked with games for students to play during breakfast and lunch! Our intention is to give students fun ways to connect and engage with each other! Our best hope is that our kids can stay disconnected from their phones and fully connected with their peers! Creating an all inclusive environment that allows our kids to have fun!
Our expectation is that anyone who borrows a game from the shelf puts all the pieces back in the appropriate box and returns it to the shelf when they finish playing! We want everyone to have the benefit of our games and we can do that be taking care of what we have!
If you have a game you are willing to donate in order to stock our shelf, please send it in to the front office! Games should be appropriate for children 12+ and can be played in 15 - 20 minutes. We want to make sure our options are appropriate and fun for all!

Attendance Matters...Let's start on the right foot!
Research shows that positive attendance records have a direct impact on student academic success! However, we don't need the research to tell us that! It is obvious that the more you are in school, the better you will do! When you are present for the lesson, you understand the material! When you understand the material, you are more likely to participate! When you participate and engage, you make deeper connections with your content and your peers!
Let's start the year with a commitment to being present!
