THE VIPER LOOK

It's important that all of our athletes look uniform on the mat. Please take the time to review the pictures and practice "our look" before competitions start. All athletes need to be completely ready to compete at their team ARRIVAL time.

Hair & Makeup:

Products for a great High Pony

Smoothing Brush:

• A soft bristle brush helps control frizz and smooth out bumps, especially for athletes with a lot of hair.

Teasing Comb:

• Perfect for creating a teased ponytail and getting smooth, clean parts with its pointed end

Hair Ties:

• Always have plenty of hair ties on hand

Bobby Pins:

• Essential for holding hair in place and smoothing out bumps

Texturizing Spray:

• Texturizing spray adds body, volume, and grip. It boosts fine hair, gives a high ponytail a nice, full look

Hair Spray:

• Everyone has their favorites, but we recommend Got2B Glued

Wax Sticks:

• Wax Sticks are great for edges, smoothing out frizz and flyaways

Tips for getting the High Pony

1. Tilt the head forward so hair falls toward the ground.
2. Use a brush to gather hair into a ponytail on top of the head in line with the ears.

• Tip: Gravity helps make it easier to get it high!

3. While the head is down, brush from the back of the neck up to the top of the head. This helps smooth out any bumps.

For Heavy/Thick Hair:

1. Split the hair into two sections – front and back. Use ears as the dividing line.

2. Brush the front section to form a half up/half down pony on the top of the head.

Always:

1. Position the ponytail in line with the top of the ears.

2. Secure it with several layers of hair ties – the more, the better.

3. Add the bow over the hair ties you’ve already put in.

3. Use bobby pins to secure the loops and tails of the bow for extra stability.

Fingernails:

A reminder for finger nail length and color for all athletes. Fingernails can NOT go past their finger tip and they need to be a neutral color. Like light pink, beige or french. If athletes have acrylic nails, they need to be cut down AND painted a neutral color. we appreciate your cooperation in this matter as we have seen injuries due to long finger nails!
