BMHS Parent/Family Update

Our high school academic team finished the regular season this past week with a 16-10 win over Scott HIgh School. The team closes out the regular season undefeated at home and with a total of 17 wins which is a school record! The team will now get ready for the District competition which will be held on January 20th and 24 at BMHS. 2nd Quarter report cards were sent home with our students on Friday, January 9th. They are also available in the Infinite Campus Parent Portal.

Lifetouch will be in the building on January 13th to take formal Senior portraits from 8:00am - 1:00pm. All seniors are required to get their picture taken. Lifetouch will be providing a drape for the girls to wear, and a tuxedo shirt and jacket for the boys to wear. A few notes:

Girls - Please wear a spaghetti strapped that can be moved off of your shoulder for the drape. Simple jewelry is best.

Boys - Please wear a plain white t-shirt with no graphics on it. The tuxedo shirt and coat will be shared between students and will be available on the day of the photo session.

The Commonwealth of Kentucky requires all students to pass a state civics test as part of the graduation requirements. All Seniors will be taking the civics test on Friday, January 16th at 8:30am in the cafeteria. This is for all Seniors including those students taking classes at NKU, Gateway, and vocational school.

The Bellevue Middle School/High School Site Based Decision Making Council will be holding their regularly scheduled monthly meeting on Monday, January 12th at 4:00pm in the conference room in the main office. The agenda for the meeting is attached below.

In an effort to better support the needs of our students, we have created a form that teachers, parents, and students can fill out to proactively request help from the school for things like academic concerns, behavior concerns, social/emotional wellbeing, mental health wellbeing, or other possible issues happening outside of school. This form is part of our broader multi-tiered system of support for students and families. To submit a referral, please fill out the attached form below. If you have any questions about the form or if you should even fill it out, please contact our School Counselor Erin King at erin.king@bellevue.kyschools.us.

In order to promote a safe and healthy school environment, we encourage all of our students to report suspicious activity, safety concerns, or mental health concerns to a trusted adult. If they do not feel comfortable talking to an adult in the building, they can always report concerns to the Kentucky Safe Schools Tip Line at 1-866-393-6659. All reports to the Kentucky Safe Schools Tip Line are completely anonymous.
