Happy Final Summer Friday, Reynolds Families!

What an incredible week! We had an amazing turnout for our Incoming 6th Grader Parent Info Meeting and Schedule Walks on Thursday! We loved seeing the bright, eager faces of our incoming students and the reactions of our returning Eagles as they walked through our newly upgraded spaces for the very first time! It was the perfect way to kick off the school year together.

The main event is almost hereβ€”our first day of school is coming up fast on Tuesday, August 11th! In order to make the transition to middle school easier, we will have students visit all eight class periods each day next week (no block days!). Below are a few additional reminders to help make the day run as smoothly as possible for all of our families as we open our doors.

We are counting down the days until Tuesday and cannot wait to #BringItHome with our students back in #OurHouse!

Soaring together,

Dr. Jess Mullins
Principal, Reynolds Middle School

πŸ“ Schedule Changes πŸ“ Schedule Changes

We are so excited to see students back on campus and are here to make sure the start of school goes smoothly! With this in mind, we've found that keeping schedules stable during the first six weeks helps students settle into their routines and gives everyone time to adjust. During this period, we will not make schedule changes unless there's a scheduling errorβ€”like your child being placed in the wrong grade level or missing a required class.

We will consider leveling up to honors in core subjects, as needed, based on student performance and teacher recommendations to make sure each child is appropriately challenged in the first few weeks. After the six-week period, the district allows students to level down from honors in core subjectsβ€”English, Math, Science, and Social Studies, after showing effort like attending tutorials. This approach works well because it gives teachers time to build relationships with their students and allows kids to get comfortable before any changes are made.
