A Note from Mrs. Lake & Mrs. Gross
Hello Grassy Creek Families!
Happy New Year! We are excited to see our students and get started with the second semester. First semester report cards will be sent Thursday, January 9. Remember, you can always access your child's most current scores by looking on ParentVue.
As the weather becomes colder, please remember to send your child with coats, gloves, and hats. We go outside for recess unless the temperature is 15 degrees or below. If school needs to be delayed or changed to an E-learning day this winter, we will post the information on the district website and the Grassy Creek Facebook page. You can also sign up for text alerts by selecting this option in ParentSquare. If any further E-learning days are needed, they will be synchronous. This would be the tentative schedule for the day:

Attendance for these days is based on work completion. Students have 48 hours to complete the work and submit it.
The second semester of school always has standardized testing. This starts with WIDA for our multilingual learners in January and February. The CoGAT will be given to our second and fifth graders January 13-31. Our kindergarteners will also do a shorter CoGAT screener during this time. The CoGAT is an assessment for reasoning and problem solving skills. The IRead testing window, for both second and third graders, will be March 3-14. We plan on testing the week of March 3 at Grassy Creek
The ILearn test for students in grade 3, 4, and 5 will be April 14- May 9. We will share specific testing dates after spring break. It is important for students to be at school during testing periods.
We look forward to a semester of learning and fun!

EZ School Pay
CPCSC Food Service is updating our software in 2025. One of the updates is to move from RevTrak to an online payment system called EZSchoolPay.
EZSchoolPay includes three features that parents have requested:
Payments are available on student accounts within fifteen minutes.
The ability to view balances on student accounts. Balances are updated every fifteen minutes.
The ability to view purchases for the last thirty days starting with purchases made on January 6.
There is a fee that parents will have to pay when using EZSchoolPay to make a payment. The fee is 4.9% of the amount paid. If you’d like to avoid this fee, payments via cash or check can be made at your student’s school. There is no fee to access the other features such as checking an account balance or a student's purchase history.
The transition from RevTrak to EZSchoolPay will take place over the winter break. The schedule is as follows:
December 19 at noon - Payments via Revtrak will no longer be accepted.
December 20 - First semester classes end.
December 30 - Payments via EZSchoolPay will be accepted.
January 6 - Second semester classes begin.
You can set up an EZSchoolPay account today but will not be able to make payments or view student account balance information until December 30. EZSchoolPay can be accessed at the following link: https://www.ezschoolpay.com/Login.aspx?District=6646767. To get started, click on the ‘Register’ button on the bottom left side of the page. There are also links to download the phone app on that page.
Three guides for using EZSchoolPay can be found at https://cpcsdin.sites.thrillshare.com/documents/departments/food-service/420214.
Friday Lunch Procedures with Adults
Due to limited space, we will host lunch visitors on Fridays only
Preregister for your visit using this LINK.
Enter through and check in at the front office. Be sure to bring an ID for scanning in. We will keep IDs while you are in the building.
All visitors will eat in the LGI (large group instruction) room.
Parents may only eat with their children, not their children’s friends/classmates.
Your non-school aged children may attend if applicable; please do not bring family friends or non-immediate family relatives. These guests should be seated at the lunch table.
Please refrain from bringing fast-food/restaurant food for yourself and your student. If you are bringing their lunch, it should mimic a “traditional” sack lunch. They can also eat the lunch provided by the cafeteria while you enjoy a sack lunch.
If you purchase an adult lunch from our cafeteria, please pay with cash ($4.60/ meal). Only adults purchasing a meal will need to go through the line. Otherwise, they should wait in the LGI for their child to join them.
Please stay in the area set up in the LGI for lunch visitors.
There are adult restrooms directly across from the cafeteria. Please use them instead of student restrooms. Students should use the student restrooms.
Once the lunch period is over, please check-out at the office and retrieve your ID before leaving the school. Visitors may not go outside for recess with students.
Lunch monitors are present to facilitate appropriate eating and behavior. Please refrain from redirecting students that are not yours.
Do not take pictures of staff or students during your lunch visit. Cell phone use is discouraged.
Please be mindful that we have limited capacity to host visitors, and that we may experience high demand.
A Note from the Office
We still need required documents for some of our student files. We are required to have on file for all students a Birth Certificate, Immunization Record, Home Language Survey and a Proof of Residency document. Proof of Residency can be a mortgage or lease statement or a utility bill (gas, electric, sewer, or trash) If you receive a request for these documents from the office or your classroom teacher, please turn those into the main office as soon as possible. We appreciate your help in keeping our records current and up to date!
Amazon Wish Lists
We are excited that school has started! Some of our staff have made Amazon Wish Lists of items they would like to have in their classrooms for the students. If you would like to contribute to a classroom, we had included their links here: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1BZAaQtJx_-evNbbMdwmOnN-Q0MP9VnFuD_tsWNGf8Uo/edit#slide=id.g110c08ddead_1_10

Car Rider Information & Reminders
To improve traffic flow during arrival and dismissal at GCES, we would like families of GCES students to enter school grounds off of Worthsville Road onto Palmore Way (first entrance to CPMS.) Then take your first left before the tennis courts (turn left/west). Continue on the access road to the end of the sidewalk on the north side adjacent to door 8.. Staff members will walk out door 8 to welcome students into the building at 8:50. We will no longer use the front of the building for drop off. Cars should continue on straight to exit the lot.
Clark-Pleasant Early Learning Center is a part of GCES, and their arrival time is 8:45. These families will enter off Sheek Road and line up for drop off in the front of the building,
If students arrive after 9:05 a.m., an adult will need to park and sign their student in at the front office.
Car rider families should enter the same way for afternoon car rider pick up, but stop at the corner that leads to the front drive. A staff member will come out at approximately 3:50 to dismiss students. Students will exit out of door 4. Cars should pull up to the flag pole once dismissal begins.
ATTENTION: Parents of students that go to after school daycare!
If your student attends a daycare that is within our GCES boundary, you will need to complete an "alternate bus stop" form in order for your child to be dropped off at the correct stop. You can access that form here or contact our transportation office at 317-535-7255.
