Dear Eastside Families,

We’ve had a wonderful start to the school year! August was full of energy, learning, and excitement, and now we’re moving into our first full month of school together. September is already off to a strong start—Picture Day, Vision Screenings, and Hearing Screenings have all taken place, and our students have settled into their routines very well.

This month brings several exciting events for our Eastside community:

Playground Installation – We’re thrilled to share that new playground equipment is being installed on both sides of our building!
Community Events – We have several opportunities for families to connect and celebrate together.
PTK Meeting – Our first PTK meeting is this afternoon. I encourage you to join us—Eastside is fortunate to have one of the strongest PTKs I’ve seen across multiple states, and your participation makes it even stronger.
Barrus Scholarship Glow Walk – Please mark your calendars for September 18th at Beck Lake. This event honors the legacy of Mrs. Cheryl Turk-Barrus, who taught in Park 6 for 34 years and made a lasting impact on our Cody community. The Glow Walk is one of my favorite events each year, and I hope to see many of you there.

Thank you for your continued partnership in making Eastside a wonderful place for students to learn and grow. Let’s make it a fantastic September!

Cheryl Turk-Barrus Scholarship Glow Stick Walk

This scholarship is in honor of a champion educator in Park 6 at Eastside Elementary. Cheryl Turk-Barrus inspired the lives of many with her love for education and her deep connection with each of her students. Mrs. Barrus served Park 6 for 34 years. She will always be treasured, and her life remembered by her students and peer teachers. This on-going scholarship will be awarded annually in memory of this amazing educator. Please know that no amount is too small. Thank you for taking time to celebrate Cheryl Turk-Barrus and her love of education!

This one communication app. covers the entire Park 6 District, and is the only communication app. you will need to communicate with teachers, coaches, etc. across all grade levels.

Arrival and Dismissal Breakdown

Bus Pick Up and Drop Off all along Wyoming Avenue.
Kiss and Go with staff supervision on 17th Street, up until the cross walk.
Park and Walk your child to the building using the various parking spots along Bleistein Ave., and 17th Street.

Bighorn Avenue/16th Street is not a supervised drop off or pick up location. Due to safety concerns, please do not park along Bighorn Avenue/16th Street.

A Reminder From The Office

If your child will be absent for the day please call the front office and let us know. This includes for any reason: sick, out of town, personal absence. If you do not call us, we will be calling you as we need to make sure all of our students are accounted for.
