MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Mitchell Families,
Quarter 2 has begun. Students returned ready to learn, and staff remains focused on advancing Pathway Plan goals. Again, I encourage families to review Quarter 1 BAG Data (Behavior, Attendance, Grades) with your student to set new growth goals.
To punctuate a successful start to Quarter 2, on Tuesday, October 14, we hosted FAFSA/CAFSA Night. Families received hands-on support with financial aid applications, and 40 attendees gained valuable resources for seniors planning their postsecondary journeys, whether that means college, trade school, or another career pathway.
Building on our recent events, join us on Monday, October 20, for Parent-Teacher Conferences and the Marauders Parent Academy. These events let us connect, reflect, and collaborate for our students’ academic success and achievement.
As we look ahead, this week is Fall Break, running from October 20 to 24. I encourage all members of the Mitchell community, students, families, and staff, to use this time to rest, recharge, and reconnect with loved ones. After a first quarter filled with hard work, growth, and achievement, this break is a valuable opportunity to pause and restore balance.
Take care of yourself by spending time outdoors, sharing meals, catching up on sleep, or relaxing. Healthy activities like walking, journaling, reading, or being with friends help you return on October 27 refreshed for the rest of the first semester.
Thank you for your partnership and commitment to Mitchell High School, where We Increase Numbers by believing in our Students-WINS!
-George Smith, Principal
