A Message from Our Principal

Dear Farnham Families,

What a wonderful week it has been at Farnham Elementary! Our staff have been absolutely feeling the love this week as our amazing community celebrated Staff Appreciation Week. From heartfelt notes to thoughtful gestures, your kindness and gratitude mean the world to our dedicated team. Thank you for taking the time to show our staff how much they are valued!

We also had some very special performances this week! Our Kindergarten and First Grade students brought the house down during their music classes, putting on shows for their loved ones that were full of joy and talent. Watching our youngest Falcons shine is one of the true highlights of the school year. A big thank you to Mr. Sanchez and Mr. Matt for bringing out the best in our students through the performing arts!

We are also incredibly proud of our 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders, who are in the midst of state testing over the next few weeks. We have loved watching them bring their very best effort and care as they navigate the test and show what they know. Way to go, Falcons!

This week also marked a bittersweet milestone as we held our last Home and School Club meeting with our outgoing Board Members. We want to take a moment to extend a heartfelt and well-deserved shoutout to our incredible outgoing Board leaders: Jennifer Whitaker (co-Vice President), Kelly Jorgensen (co-Vice President), and Hilary Armstrong (Co-Treasurer). Their dedication, hard work, and passion for our Farnham community have made a lasting impact, and we are so grateful for everything they have given to our school. Thank you for your outstanding service!

As always, we are so proud to be part of such a warm and engaged school community. Here's to a great week ahead!

Go Falcons! 🦅 Solve Problems, Make Good Decisions, and Show Respect

Be well,

Amy O'Hehir

Farnham Principal

Morning Drop Off - Changes are Coming!

We have an exciting safety update to share regarding our drive-through drop-off loop! As we work to make mornings safer and smoother for all of our Falcons, we are rolling out some important changes in phases so our community has plenty of time to adjust. Starting with Phase 1, you will notice cones with chains placed along the exterior of the loop, alongside the sidewalk. These are designed to ensure that students remain safely in their vehicles until they reach the designated drop-off space near the flagpole. This small but mighty change will help keep our mornings safe, organized, and moving efficiently. Thank you in advance for your patience and partnership as we work through this process together!

Important Safety Update: Crosswalk Changes

We want to make sure all of our Farnham families are aware of an important update regarding our crosswalks. As you know, our crossing location at Woodard and Twilight has been unmanned as we have been looking for someone to fill that position. The other crossing location at Woodard and Starview is also no longer being staffed due to restraints within the San Jose Crossing Guard Program. As our students and families cross Woodard, we ask that everyone please take extra care and caution.

We encourage all of our walkers and drivers to slow down, stay alert, and look both ways before crossing. Please talk with your children about safe crossing habits and remind them to always stop, look, and wait for traffic to clear before stepping into the crosswalk. The safety of our Falcons is always our top priority, and we are counting on our community to look out for one another. 🦅

Thank you for your attention to this important update, and please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.
