St Anthony's School News

Week 1 - Thursday 5th February 2026
St Anthony's School community works collaboratively to teach and live the values of Christ. While respecting tradition, and to meet the demands of a rapidly changing society, it strives to educate our children to their full potential.
🥜Allergy Aware School🥜
We would like to remind families that St Anthony's is an allergy aware school. Therefore, for the health and safety of children and staff with allergies, peanut butter, Nutella, nuts and muesli bars containing nuts are not to be included in your child’s lunch.
Principal's Message
God of wisdom and might,
we praise you for the wonder of our being, for mind, body and spirit.
Be with our children as they begin a new school year.
Bless them and their teachers and staff.
Give the strength and grace as their bodies grow;
wisdom and knowledge to their minds as they search for understanding;
and peace and zeal to their hearts.
We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
Parents, carers, children and teachers
Welcome to the new school year. It has been wonderful to see all the smiling faces this week and to hear stories about children excited about coming to school and not wanting to be late.
We welcome Ms Belinda Mitchell (Year 4), Ms Andrea Shilkin (Kindy Blue), Ms Caitlyn Hoad (Music) and Mr Isaac Reindl (Groundsman) to our staff.
School Hours
Children are supervised from 8.10am to 3.15pm each day. Children should not be dropped off before 8.10am unless they are participating in OSH Club or tennis coaching.
If your child is absent from school, it is a legal requirement that the school be notified by a parent/carer.
Students who are late to school, leaving during the day for appointments or leaving early at the end of the day must be signed in/out through the front office.
School Day For Students
8.25am - Class doors open
8.35am - Classes commence
10.35am - Morning recess
10.50am - Classes resume
12.30pm - Lunch
1.10pm - Classes resume

Hot Weather
It seems that the start of each new school year is hotter than the last. It is essential that all students bring a water bottle (water only) to school each day to remain hydrated. Taps are located around the school so students can refill their bottles as needed.
All children need to have their hats at school each day. Hats are worn at recess time, lunch time and whenever the children are at fitness and PE lessons. Children should have put on sunscreen at home before coming to school. Sunscreen is available in each classroom for ‘top-ups’.
Parent Information Meetings
Parent Information evening will be on Wednesday, 11th February. These meetings are an opportunity to learn about what is happening and expectations in your child/ren’s classrooms.
It is always difficult to arrange times that best suit most parents. If you cannot attend, please ensure that you read any information that is sent home or posted on your child’s SeeSaw page.
School Fees
2026 School Fee accounts will be sent out soon. Any outstanding fees from 2025 will be added to this year’s accounts. Please ensure all outstanding fees from 2025 are paid immediately, and 2026 fees paid off by the end of Term 3 this year. If you have difficulty paying your fees, please make an appointment to meet with the Principal to discuss alternate arrangements.
Parents and Carers who hold a Health Care Card or Pension Concession Card may be entitled to discounted school fees. Parents who provided a copy of their card last year must provide a copy of the card again this year before we can include any applicable discount in your fees statement.
God Bless

Social Work Service
Dear Families
For new families joining St Anthony’s school, I hope you find our school community friendly and welcoming. My name is Ann Peart, I work part time as the school social worker.
I hope everyone enjoyed relaxing family time over the Christmas holidays and your children have been looking forward to the new school year. It is normal for children to have a mixture of feelings as they settle into first term; ranging from happy, excited, curious, to nervous, anxious or sad just to name a few. Simple strategies to help you child adjust to school routines and expectations include eating healthy food, getting enough sleep, plenty of free play and limited screen time. These things help to replenish their busy minds and bodies.
If at any time during the school year you have concerns regarding your child’s social or emotional wellbeing, or if they experience a significant change in their family I am available on Tuesday and Wednesday each week to talk with you and discuss supports available.
I can be contacted via the school office 9303 7500 or by email ann.peart@cewa.edu.au
With best wishes for the year ahead.
Ann Peart
