Art Show
Congratulations to our 8th grade artists and Advanced Art students on a wonderful Art Show exhibit this past week. We have amazing artists at HMS. Thank you for all your hard work in art class this trimester. Go Vikings!!!
The Hopkins Viking Marching Band had an incredible, record-breaking season! The band traveled to two invitationals this season as well as MSBOA District Marching Band Festival in Caledonia. At the Otsego Band Invitational, the band took Best Color Guard, Best Percussion, Best Music, and Best Marching, scoring a 80.3 and achieving first place in Class C. At the Hastings Marching Invitational, the band took Best Color Guard, Best Music, Best Marching, and Best Drum Majors while also achieving first place in Class C with a score of 85.6. A new school record! At the MSBOA District Marching Band Festival, the vikings achieved straight A ratings in all categories from all judges and were awarded a first division rating!
Congratulations to our hard working students and their command personnel: Drum Majors Kylie Williams and Sofia LaVigne, Guard Captain Aiyanna Rose, and Drumline Captains Kiryn Black and Keilah Bonga!
Ghouly Goodies
Advanced Art class took a much deserved break from art projects to work on their creative decorating skills for Halloween!
Food & Hygiene Drive
Ms. Klocke's Japanese class practiced using kanji to build some haikus. You can see them in the HMS hallways. Try to find out which 8-graders made these ones!

HMS Baseball
There are Tryouts/Evaluations for MS 6th grade, 7th grade, and 8th grade baseball teams. We are running the tryouts/evaluations to see how many kids are interested in the spring, and to give parents time to cover the cost of MS baseball expenses. This also gives Mr. O'Dell a better idea of the number of teams we can have for MS this year. If we have enough players willing to participate, then we can have three different teams.
