January Event
National Lutheran Schools Week
Talent Show
Try-Outs
This year is almost over, and we have events coming up for National Lutheran Schools Week, January 21-27th 2024. One of those is the talent show and talent show tryouts. The talent show encourages participants to perform the arts of singing, dancing acting, martial arts, gymnastics, playing an instrument, poetry, comedy, or other activities to showcase their skills.
With the support of Mrs. Brunkhorst, I will be taking over the talent show tryouts and the talent show. The try-outs will be held on January 10, 2024, starting at 3:45. I will be sending home a document with permission slip that you will sign and return giving your child permission to participate in the tryouts.
A school talent show is a great way to showcase students, build their confidence, and bring our community together. Here are some expectations for a successful talent show at school:
- Do:
- Encourage students to participate.
- Set clear expectations for the types of acts that are appropriate including musical choices.
- Hold auditions to ensure that students have something appropriate prepared.
- Don’t:
- Allow lip-syncing or singing along with recorded vocals.
- Let kids get up on stage and just goof around.
- Have acts that are too long or repetitive.
- Forget to have fun! I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.
