Hello Parkview Panthers! Are you interested in learning about sustainability and improving the pond at Garner Creek? Our Environmental Club, along with Gwinnett County Water Resources, is planning a Bioretention pond clean up on Saturday, Jan 25, 2025, from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. There will be a scientist and an outreach representative to teach us about sustainability while we clean and beautify the area of Garner Creek, which is right outside of our door. Please join us for a clean up day and wonderful act of environmental stewardship!
Georgia School Climate Survey – Family Survey:
The Georgia School Climate Survey is a state requirement that replaces the Georgia Health Survey. The survey is aligned with Georgia’s Systems of Continuous Improvement and is designed to provide more actionable data for the district and school leaders to make schools a safer and more engaging place to learn. Additionally, our School Climate Star Rating is dependent upon the participation and completion rate of this survey.
The Family Survey is brief and centers around family engagement and communication and engagement ideas.
Please complete the Georgia School Climate – Family Survey and we welcome your feedback.

Did your student forget to bring something to school?
Please remember we do not interrupt class time to deliver items to students that were left at home. We will not deliver items to students and we will not call into classrooms to have students pick up items. If you leave something for a student they will need to pick it up between classes. Thank you for your help supporting a consistent learning environment.

A Note From the Attendance Office
Dear Parkview Families,
We would like to inform you about the upcoming 1st semester final exams schedule. Please take note of the following important dates and details:
December 17th:
Students will take their 1st period final exam from 7:15 AM to 9:20 AM.
After the exam, students will attend the rest of their classes, but the schedule will be modified.
This is still a traditional school day, and we encourage parents to support students in preparing for their remaining finals.
December 18th-20th:
We will follow a block schedule for final exams (two exams per day).
Students will take all final exams during the scheduled times based on the exam schedule.
Students will not be allowed to take any exams early.
Students who miss their finals before December 20th should arrange with their teachers to make them up. After December 20th, students with excused or approved absences will need to schedule their final exam make ups in early January.
Students will be released from school at 11:45 AM on these days. We appreciate families planning appointments for after this time.
Important Reminders:
There will be no check-outs from December 18th-20th.
Students who arrive late for exams will be admitted to class, but their exam time will remain as scheduled.
We appreciate your understanding and flexibility and hope this information helps you plan accordingly. Thank you for your cooperation and support.
End of Semester Information & 2nd Semester Schedules
1st Semester Report Cards/Transcripts
1st semester report cards/transcripts will be accessible to students and parents in StudentVue and ParentVue on January 10th. 1st semester report cards/transcripts will be printed and mailed from the GCPS district office to the student’s address in the student information system beginning January 10th.
2nd Semester Schedules
Students will be able to view their 2nd semester schedule through the student portal or the StudentVue app on January 5th. However, please understand that schedule changes are being made up until the first day of 2nd semester, January 6th, due to course failures and class leveling.
Some student schedules may shift due to the balancing of class sizes as well as faculty/staff changes. We guarantee students will have a total of six classes and an advisement, but we cannot guarantee that that the classes will be in the same period order or with the same teacher as first semester or that students will have the same lunch period.
Schedule Changes
The only changes being made to second semester schedules are for those students who have failed a class and cannot move to the 2nd semester course or for seniors who need a class to meet graduation requirements. Most of these changes have already been made. Schedule changes will NOT be made for the following reasons:
· Teacher or class period preference
· The student doesn’t like the elective and wants a different elective
· Level changes (AP to Honors, Honors to CP) because current level is impacting GPA
· GPA concerns
· The class is not needed for graduation
Students were advised during the registration process last Spring to choose wisely as their choices were yearlong choices and changes would not be made between semesters.
We hope everyone has a restful winter break and we look forward to student’s return to school on Monday, January 6th.

Senior Dues - Cap and Gown
Dear Parkview Senior –
This is a reminder to care of your Senior Dues (which includes your cap and gown)! Scholastic Images, our cap and gown provider, is placing the PARKVIEW order in January, so if you have not already done so, we need you to either pay for a package or reserve one today!
To ensure you receive a Cap & Gown that fits you, you MUST complete one of the following 2 options no later than 11:59pm on Tuesday, December 31st.
1. Order your Cap & Gown Package now! The fee is at the lowest amount it will be for the remainder of the year, so take advantage and order your cap & gown today!
2. RESERVE your Cap & Gown Package now, pay LATER. If needed, you can RESERVE your cap & gown now and then use the link emailed to you to pay later.
- Please note while you are reserving your gown, you are NOT reserving the fee amount. Therefore, you will have to pay whatever the current amount is at the time you make payment (i.e. any additional late fees). Choosing this option ensures that you will receive a Cap & Gown that fits you and it will be delivered with the rest of the class IF paid prior to Sunday, March 2nd at 11:59pm.
If you do not complete one of the 2 options, we are not able to guarantee your size, or that a gown will be available for you. All students planning to participate in the Graduation Ceremony must order a Cap & Gown Package!
Take care of this today by going to www.scholasticimages.com, then:
1. Choose your school
2. Click on the Cap & Tassel Icon
3. Pick you package
4. Select Pay Now (there is an option for a payment plan through AfterPay on the next screen) OR Reserve Now & Pay Later*
