Pink Elementary - July 2026
The Palominos Press: September 27, 2026
A Note from Ms. Hernandez
Dear Palominos Families, & Supporters!
What an unforgettable Hispanic Heritage Spirit Week! It was wonderful to see our Palominos celebrate the cultures and traditions that make our school community so special. Thank you to everyone who joined in and helped make the week so much fun!
Even as we celebrate and enjoy these big moments, I want to remind everyone that instruction remains our number one priority. The most important thing our students can do each day is be in class every day, fully engaged in high-quality learning. That means arriving on time, minimizing distractions, and making every instructional minute count.
As a reminder, September is Attendance Awareness Month, and I want to remind you just how critical attendance is to your student’s success. Every day and every instructional minute matters. Missing even a few minutes adds up quickly. Thank you for helping us keep students on time, in class, and fully engaged in learning. Together, we can make sure every minute counts.
- We are continuing to see improvement in on-time arrivals, but we still have work to do in this area.
- Reinforce that tardies and absences may result in loss of credit.
- Stress the importance of engaging and participating in all instructional activities.
Thank you for making attendance, communication, and school spirit priorities in your home. With your partnership, we will continue to Expect Excellence and Achieve Greatness!
With Palomino Pride,
M. Hernandez
Expect Excellence. Achieve Greatness.

Strengthening Safety Together
This week provided an important opportunity to reflect on our practices and make adjustments that strengthen the safety of our students and staff.
Effective Immediately:
- Students must not open any interior or exterior door for any reason
- Signage will be posted throughout the school
- Teachers will review this expectation with students
- A reminder will be shared DAILY during announcements.
If someone needs assistance entering a room or the building, students should immediately notify a staff member.
Thank you for reinforcing this important safety expectation at home as we work together to keep Pink safe.
September is Attendance Awareness Month
Every Day Counts: 5th Grade Holds on to the Top Spot
🎉 Congratulations to 5th Grade for being attendance H.E.R.O.s and earning the highest attendance of all grade levels for the second week in a row! To celebrate, 5th Grade students will receive extra PBIS points and enjoy a special classroom celebration this coming week.
Our campus attendance fell below our 95% goal for the second consecutive week, but we know we can turn it around. Let’s keep encouraging our Palominos to be present and ready to learn each day so we can bring our attendance back above 95% next week!
