Good afternoon, Glenwood families!!!

It's a wrap on the 2025-26 school year! As we close out another successful school year at Glenwood Elementary, I want to extend my sincere gratitude to our students, staff, and families for making my first year as principal such a rewarding experience. From the moment I joined the Glenwood community, I have been impressed by the kindness, support, and commitment to excellence that define this special school.

Throughout the year, I have had the opportunity to witness the strong partnerships between home and school, the dedication of our staff, and the enthusiasm and resilience of our students. Together, these qualities make Glenwood an exceptional place to learn and grow.

As summer begins, I hope everyone has the opportunity to relax, recharge, and enjoy meaningful time with family and friends. Thank you for a wonderful first year. I am grateful to be part of the Glenwood community and look forward to all that we will accomplish together in the years ahead.

Have a safe, happy, and enjoyable summer!

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE CLASS OF 2026!

Best,

Josh Rehak, Principal

Recipients of this award:

  • Treat others with respect

  • Demonstrate a positive attitude toward classmates, school, and community

  • Participate in school and community service

Fern Mathis Ambassador Award

Mrs. Fern Mathis dedicated forty-four years to making a lasting impact at Glenwood as a teacher, mentor, and friend. Upon her retirement in 2017, she left behind a legacy that continues to shape a positive and supportive school culture for all students. Mrs. Mathis truly embodied our school motto: “Making a world of difference for students who will make a difference in the world.”

She was a passionate advocate for students, staff, and families, always leading with kindness, compassion, and dedication.

The Ambassador Award, selected by the Glenwood faculty, is presented annually to one student who has attended Glenwood for all six years and exemplifies the qualities Mrs. Mathis represented so well. The recipient will receive a medal and have their name added to a plaque displayed in the library. Our 2026 Fern Mathis Ambassador is Brooke Peltier!
