September 11

On September 11, 2001, the world watched in disbelief as a series of coordinated terrorist attacks unfolded. Almost 3,000 people lost their lives during the attacks. The events of 9/11 forever changed the course of history, leaving an indelible mark on our collective memory. We remember the victims, the first responders, and the countless individuals who demonstrated extraordinary courage and resilience in the face of unimaginable tragedy. The day serves as a powerful reminder of the fragility of peace and the enduring strength of the human spirit.

CHS Writing Tutors Are Ready For Service

The CHS Writing Tutors, our 38 new members and the 26 returning folks, are ready for your student writers. If your students have a writing assignment, please consider including a writing conference as part of the process!

Writing tutors are not "mere editors." Their goal is to ask questions, coach, encourage, and empower; the writing remains the student's writing. Oh, watching the conversations from a distance is inspiring.

Writing tutors are available before school, after school, during Late Start, Advisement, Homeroom, off periods (some of them), and evenings and weekends (via GoogleMeets).

They have helped students with writing assignments for English courses, social studies courses, science courses, theatre, world language, and more, and if your students write, Hopefully you and your student will entertain this option!!!!

Individual students can contact me 2-4 days in advance about scheduling a conference, but please, please, please see me or email me or just call out if you'd like to chat about writing tutors.

The podcast also allows our guests to dive deeper into conversations, offering even more helpful insights for your parenting journey. Our first Parent University podcast discusses back-to-school anxiety and offers tools and tips for families to help manage that anxiety. Listen to the podcast here.
