Safe Schools
Back to school
Welcome back to school!
We are delighted to welcome you back for another school year and welcome to our new parents and guardians. We hope that the years at Durant Schools will be very happy and successful for your children. As we start a new school year, we recognize that to be successful children need academic, social, behavioral, and emotional support. We want to provide you with information regarding Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services.

Talk. They hear you
https://www.samhsa.gov/talk-they-hear-you
The “Talk. They Hear You.” campaign aims to reduce underage drinking and other substance use among youths under the age of 21 by providing parents and caregivers with the information and resources they need to address these issues with their children early and often.
OK I am ready
OK I’m Ready is a centralized resource to help educate about substance use issues and how parents, educators, and community leaders can all play a part in reducing the negative consequences of substance misuse in Oklahoma.
988 and the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline
988 has been designated as the new three-digit dialing code that will route callers to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. While some areas may be currently able to connect to the Lifeline by dialing 988, this dialing code will be available to everyone across the United States.
When people call, text, or chat 988, they will be connected to trained counselors that are part of the existing National Suicide Prevention Lifeline network. These trained counselors will listen, understand how their problems are affecting them, provide support, and connect them to resources if necessary.

We can connect them to the immediate help they need
(833) 885-CARE (2273)
When a young person is in crisis—behavioral or emotional, physical or social, at home or at school—we can help. Our caring call center specialists will help talk through the “what’s going on”—big or small. We’ll work to provide support over the phone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. And we can connect the young person (child, teen or young adult) with local mental health professionals who can come to their home in 1- to 24-hours.
NAMI Oklahoma
