The Student Ambassador club is excited to share that our school community will be celebrating Unity Day on Wednesday Oct 21st. Unity Day is an annual event occurring during National Bullying Prevention Month that promotes joining together to create healthier communities through kindness, acceptance of differences, and inclusion. It was started by PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center in 2011 and is now celebrated around the world.

The call to action is simple: wear and share the color orange. This vibrant statement becomes a conversation starter, showing support for students who have been bullied and for prevention of bullying.

We are coming together to celebrate kindness, acceptance, and inclusion— with our whole school community of students, teachers, staff, and parents—so that we can make a school that is happier and healthier.

To participate in Unity Day, individuals, schools, wear or share orange to unite for kindness, acceptance, and inclusion to prevent students being bullied.

So, on Wednesday October 21st please wear or share the color orange.

Take a pic and post it in the Unity Day Padlet!

MikeRowe Works Scholarship

Because no one else is focusing on it. The Work Ethic Scholarship Program was created to help close the skills gap by supporting men and women who want to learn a trade, show up early, stay late, and take pride in doing a job well done.

If you’re pursuing training in the skilled trades–welding, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, construction, or dozens of other in-demand careers–we want to help you get the training you need without taking on a mountain of debt.

Every year, we award millions of dollars in scholarships to individuals who are ready to learn a skill that’s in demand, earn a good living, and keep the country moving. It’s not about chasing your passion. It’s about bringing it with you.

Process Update

The State of Michigan has transitioned to a fully digital work permit system effective October 2, 2026. This means schools are no longer involved in signing work permit forms.

To obtain a work permit, students must submit a request through the State's online portal. After the request is submitted, the employer will receive an email to complete their portion of the process.

MiCareerQuest Middle Michigan

Students and families recently attended an exciting career exploration event, MiCareerQuest, hosted by MichiganWorks! Region 7B and held at the Ryder Center at Saginaw Valley State University, in Saginaw, Michigan.

This unique career and college readiness experience provided participants with opportunities to engage in interactive, hands-on exhibits featuring simulators, robots, drones, heavy equipment, and other cutting-edge technologies.

Throughout the event, students and families connected with industry professionals and explored career opportunities in Advanced Manufacturing, Agri-Business, Construction, Health Sciences, and Information Technology. The hands-on activities and real-world demonstrations helped students gain a deeper understanding of various career pathways while learning about the education, training, and skills needed for future success.

The event was a tremendous success, with students and parents thoroughly enjoying the experience. It was wonderful to see families learning together, asking questions, and discovering new career possibilities in an engaging and interactive environment.
