Dear DMS Families,

This week, we joined the Beckwith Believers in Unified Bowling. Students also participated in the Special Olympics last Friday. Both are amazing opportunities for our students, and we were very excited to be able to participate. While Special Olympics was a one day event, Unified Bowling will continue through mid- June. We also have about two weeks left of our baseball/softball season. The rain has made it difficult, but we continue to work to reschedule games as we are able.

I am also excited to note that we have officially completed MCAS testing in all grades, and we will work towards completing any makeup Civics exams in the 8th grade over the next week. As a reminder to all DMS families, there is no school on Monday, May 26th in observance of Memorial Day. In addition, DRRHS Principal Dustin Demers and CTE Director Michael Strojny will host a Coffee Hour on Tuesday at DMS from 5:30- 6:30 p.m. in the cafeteria. Please see below for further details on this night.

Also, the Scholastic Book Fair will begin on Tuesday, May 27th in Library classes. Further details can be found below from Mrs. Hayden regarding the BOGO Book Fair. Please reach out to her at mhayden@drregional.org if you have any questions.

As we move forward, grade level team leaders will be sending out details regarding the end of the year. If you are the parent/guardian of an 8th grade student, please be on the lookout for information on end of year events, as an email will be coming from Mrs. Rose in the next week. As a reminder, there is also information on our PTO Color Run below.

In addition, you will find information on the DR SEPAC Board Elections, the PTO's June Newsletter, the DR Summer Experience and other fliers from the community.

Have a great week! Please also find our May Wellness Newsletter.

Softball/Baseball Games- Student Spectators Softball/Baseball Games- Student Spectators

As we continue into our softball and baseball season, we want to remind families that DMS students are more than welcome to return to DMS to watch their friends play baseball/softball. However, they should take their regularly scheduled transportation home and return for the game if they would like to watch. We are finding that not many students staying for the game are actually watching it. Games do not begin until 3:15/3:30 p.m., and school staff is not always after school to monitor students between the end of the day and the game. With that, it is important to note that school staff is also not always in attendance at softball/baseball games, so it is recommended that students come to the game with an adult.

Reminder to Families Reminder to Families

Dear DR Families,

As you may know, Massachusetts now provides free breakfast and lunch for all students across the Commonwealth!

We are encouraging families who may have qualified for the National Free & Reduced School Lunch Program in the past to complete the online application. This helps determine eligibility and ensures that we can continue to offer reduced or waived fees for various programs and activities. When completing the application, please remember to include consent for sharing your status with relevant departments and programs.

Without this qualification and your consent, we will be unable to provide reduced or waived fees.

Thank you for your cooperation!

Technology Repair Fees Technology Repair Fees

Dear Families,

We hope this message finds you well. As part of our commitment to maintaining our technology resources, we wanted to inform you about our updated repair fee structure. This will go into effect on October 28, 2024. These fees help us cover the cost of repairs when school-issued devices are damaged due to misuse or carelessness. The fees are divided into three tiers, depending on the extent of the damage:

  • Level 1: Charger, Cover (top or bottom), Touchpad, etc- $40
  • Level 2: Keyboard, Monitor- $75
  • Level 3: Total Loss/Replacement- $300

We encourage students to handle their devices with care to avoid any damage and the associated costs. If a device does require repair, the appropriate fee will be communicated to you along with the steps to resolve the issue.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support in keeping our technology in great condition!

In addition, if your child needs Chromebook repairs, you will receive an email directly from mySchoolBucks regarding payment.
