CSD Weekly Update

LETTER FROM THE SUPERINTENDENT
Dear Centennial Families,
As we conclude our celebration of American Education Week, I want to take a moment to thank you for the important role you play in your child’s education, and recognize the essential relationship that exists between our schools, our families, and our community. Seeing so many parents and family members visiting our schools and classrooms this week was a powerful reminder that educating our students is a partnership - a collective effort that thrives when parents, educators, and community members work together toward a shared vision of success for every student in our district.
Parental involvement remains one of the most significant factors in a child’s academic and social growth. Whether you help with homework, attend school events, encourage reading at home, or simply ask your child about their day, your engagement makes a meaningful difference. We are grateful for the trust you place in our educators and the collaboration that strengthens our schools every day, and we will continue to approach our work with the care and attention every child deserves.
Over the past five months, I’ve had the opportunity to meet and speak with our dedicated faculty and staff, conduct student focus groups, and host parent and community engagement nights to better understand and address the priorities in our community. What stands out from those conversations is the tremendous sense of pride that exists in our district. People love being here – they appreciate one another, take ownership for making a positive impact, and above all, care deeply for the students we serve.
As we approach Thanksgiving, I want to extend my heartfelt appreciation to our families, staff, and students. Our strength as a district lies in you, our people. Every day, there are “small miracles” and acts of kindness that add up to meaningful change, and I want to pause and acknowledge the countless individuals who contribute to our district’s success. I am deeply thankful for our dedicated teachers, support staff, and administrators who show extraordinary commitment to our students, for our families who partner with us to empower our students’ lives, and for our students, whose curiosity, resilience, humor and spirit inspire us to keep doing meaningful work the right way.
On behalf of our entire district leadership team, I wish you and your loved ones a joyful and restful Thanksgiving. May the holiday bring you peace, reflection, and time with those who matter most to you. Thank you for your continued support, and for being an essential part of our Centennial School District community.
With appreciation,
Abe Lucabaugh, Ed.D.
Superintendent
LETTER FROM THE ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT
Dear Centennial School District Families and Community,
It is with great pride and a deep sense of humility that I address you following my first month as Assistant Superintendent. Serving this district is a true honor.
As I have visited all our Centennial schools and engaged with many of you and our wider community, I have been welcomed with open arms. Thank you for this! I have quickly sensed the strong community pride, with many families having deep, established roots here. I am genuinely excited to partner with you as we move forward together.
Already, I've had the privilege of witnessing the incredible daily happenings across our district—from the engaging classroom experiences and the active parent/guardian involvement to the passion demonstrated by our Centennial teachers, staff, and facilities team. It is clear that there is a foundation of excellence here, driven by hardworking educators, dedicated students, and a supportive community.
My immediate priorities will focus on deepening our commitment to educational equity and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Our goal is to ensure that every single student—regardless of background or learning style—can thrive and reach their highest potential. I am eager to explore how we can enhance our academic programs and provide the resources needed to prepare our students for an ever-changing world.
As a father myself, I deeply understand the profound trust you place in us to care for and educate your children. Please know that I am committed to strengthening the great work already underway to ensure every student has access to the best opportunities for future success.
True progress requires open communication and partnership. I encourage you to reach out, share your perspectives, and attend upcoming district and school events. Your voice is invaluable, and I am here to listen and learn alongside you.
I look forward to meeting many more of you in the coming months as we work together to support every learner in the Centennial School District.
Sincerely,
Michael Zackon, Ed.D.
Happy American Education Week!
Centennial School District Celebrates American Education Week
This week, Centennial School District proudly celebrates American Education Week, honoring the incredible educators, staff, and students who make our schools thrive. ACADEMICS
Dear Centennial School District Families,
We deeply value you and your family as partners in your child’s education and overall well-being. As part of our commitment to creating safe, supportive, and healthy learning environments, Centennial School District will participate in the 2025 Pennsylvania Youth Survey (PAYS) this fall. The PAYS is a confidential survey that asks students about their knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors related to topics such as school climate, mental health, family and peer relationships, and the risk and protective factors that influence youth decision-making.
The PAYS is sponsored and conducted by the PA Commission on Crime and Delinquency. Administered every two years statewide, the survey provides data that help schools and communities guide prevention efforts, improve student supports, and strengthen programs designed to keep young people healthy, safe, and thriving. You can request a list of the survey questions by visiting this link: https://epis.psu.edu/PAYS/question. For more information about the survey, including a list of Frequently Asked Questions, please visit www.pays.pa.gov. More information about the survey and the most recent data for our county can be found on the Bucks County Drug & Alcohol Commission website.
Centennial Survey Window: November 12–26, 2025
Centennial Students Participating: Students currently enrolled in Grades 8, 10, and 12
Centennial Administration Format: Confidential online survey completed during the Social Studies class (approximately 30–40 minutes)
Participation is voluntary, and all student responses are anonymous—no names or identifying information are collected. Results are reported only in combined form and are used to identify trends, secure prevention funding, and develop targeted programs and supports for youth.
We encourage participation, as the insights from this survey help us better understand and respond to the needs of our students and community. However, families who prefer to opt their child out may do so by completing this brief opt-out form by Friday, November 7, 2025 (by 4:00 PM).
Thank you for supporting this important effort to improve the health, safety, and well-being of Centennial students. If you have any questions, please contact us at 215-441-6000, ext. 11006.
Sincerely,
Althea Tomlinson

Interview Day at William Tennent High School
Our amazing students had the chance to sit down with real professionals, practice their interview skills, and even get their resumes reviewed! From handshakes to career tips, today was all about preparing for the future.
Klinger's Trip to Lincoln Financial Field
This past October, Klinger Middle School held its annual fundraiser—and we exceeded all expectations. The grand prize was a guided tour of the Super Bowl Champion Eagles’ home field. On November 19, 2025, 82 students, parents, and teachers who earned the privilege boarded buses and headed downtown to Lincoln Financial Field.
During the tour, we explored the stadium’s luxury suites, sat at the press tables where reporters cover each game, and visited the stadium’s autism sensory room. We learned that the grass field is replaced after concerts and multiple times throughout the season, and that the turf is heated to 60 degrees until kickoff. Our tour guide also shared fascinating team history: the Eagles’ signature green originated from blending the Frankford Yellowjackets’ blue and yellow, and in 1945 the team temporarily merged with the Steelers to form the “Steagles.”
Klippers sat in the press conference chairs and walked through the locker room, snapping photos of favorite players’ lockers—Barkley, DeJean, Dotson, Graham, and more. One of the most exciting moments was walking through the players’ tunnel, complete with lights and music, for a true game-day entrance experience.
To wrap up the day, everyone received sunglasses, and one of the tour guides even let students (and adults!) try on his Super Bowl LIX ring. It was an unforgettable trip filled with learning, excitement, and plenty of Eagles pride.
WT Madrigals Perform at Temple University’s Cantate Festival
On Friday, November 14, the Madrigals traveled to Temple University for the annual Cantate High School Choral Festival. They were one of fifteen choirs from the greater Philadelphia area selected to receive a clinic and adjudication from four members of the Temple University choral faculty.
The ensemble opened with the Renaissance motet Sicut Cervus by Palestrina before bringing the house down with Santa Tell Me by Ariana Grande. Judges praised their versatility, energy, and expressiveness. You can watch their full performance on the WTHS Music YouTube page. If you want to hear more, be sure to join us for the WT Winter Concert on Thursday, December 11 at 7:00 PM!
McDonald Food Pantry Thanks Davis Elementary
A huge thank-you to Davis Elementary School for their generosity! The McDonald Food Pantry shelves are fully stocked thanks to their successful food drive collection. Our school community truly appreciates the partnership and support in helping local families in need.
Family Consumer Science at LCMS
Log College's hallways were treated to the incredible aromatics of home-cooking this week as 7th and 8th grade FCS students learned to make pasta with their homemade choice of Alfredo or tomato sauce (or gravy if you prefer).
WT Select Choirs to Perform with Warminster Symphony Orchestra
The William Tennent Madrigals and Chorale are excited to perform with the Warminster Symphony Orchestra on Saturday, December 6. Our choirs will combine for a special collaboration featuring a movement from the Brahms Requiem and Handel’s iconic “Hallelujah Chorus.” For this concert only, all Centennial students receive free admission with a paying adult, making this a wonderful opportunity to experience an evening of exceptional music.
Climate/Culture Surveys
The Climate & Culture Survey (November 12-26) will be open to students, families, and staff members to assess key aspects of school life, including topics such as school climate and safety. More details about this will be shared closer to the survey window.
The survey data will help us identify effective school and district practices as well as gauge your child’s growth toward the PA Career Ready Skills. If you have any questions about the survey administration, please don’t hesitate to contact us at 215-441-6000 X11026.
TECHNOLOGY AND INNOVATION
Please be aware that billing for intentional device damage has begun. Should you be required to pay a fee for intentional device damage, you will be billed via our Skyward Q system and sent communication from your building's Assistant Principal. Students will not be able to participate in end-of-year activities (i.e., field trips, school dances, graduation, etc.) if they have an outstanding balance in Skyward Q.
Families can review our district's 1:1 Device Agreement, which includes prices for technology repairs, on our CSD website.
HEALTH & WELLNESS
Hello, Parents and Guardians, and Welcome Back to Another School Year!
Please take a moment to ensure you’ve completed the Nurse Card, which includes permissions for over-the-counter medications during the school day. You can find it under Family Access > Beginning of the Year Information.
As a reminder for our younger students, please pack an extra set of clothing to keep in their backpack in case it’s needed during the school day. We also kindly ask that students wear closed-toe shoes to help prevent injuries and falls during recess.
We look forward to another great year working together with you!
As the fall season brings beautiful changes to our surroundings, it can also bring an unwelcome challenge — head lice.
