We’re excited to share our monthly newsletter, which offers a snapshot of life at Benson Primary School

Each edition will include:

• Updates from the IPTO (Parent Teacher Organization)

• September 25 - IPTO @Franzen 6:00-7:30pm (Chaperone Training)

On Benson’s first early release day, all Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade students took part in special activities focused on building classroom community and learning about the 8 Keys of Excellence. Students gathered for assemblies and worked together to practice these important keys, setting a positive foundation for a successful school year.

Upcoming important dates:

• September 19- Chaleston Wrap Fundraiser begins: ONLINE event
• Sptember 25- 2nd IPTO Member Meeting @Franzen 6:00-7:30pm
• October 23- Trunk or Treat
• Janurary 30- Daddy Daughter Dance
• February 20- Bingo Night

The Benson Student Day is:

8:45am-3:35pm

• Students SHOULD NOT ARRIVE prior to 8:35am. We will not be supervising outdoor areas until this time. Thank you for helping avoid early arrival.

Early Release Wednesdays: Marked with ER on the calendar below are dates our students will be released early from school for the purpose of teacher development. Early release day times are 8:45am-1:35pm.

Academic Calendar

After-School Enrichment Opportunities:

Benson Primary students have the option to participate in a variety of after-school enrichment programs this year. These tuition-based clubs are offered by outside organizations and will run in multiple sessions throughout the year:

• Mondays – Crayola Art Club

• Tuesdays – Young Rembrandt's Art Club in Art Room

• Tuesdays – Lego Club in Gymnasium

• Thursdays – Chess Club

Please note: These opportunities require registration and full payment at the time of registration, as determined by the outside program providers. Registration must be completed directly through the links and QR codes provided on the flyer linked below.

We encourage families to register early, as space in these programs may be limited. Families should plan to pick up students promptly at school by 4:30 p.m. following each program.

Parent Checklist:

• ✅ Review the flyers linked within: Benson After School Programming

• ✅ Register directly with the program provider- select flyer

• ✅ Submit full payment at the time of registration

• ✅ Arrange student pick-up at school by 4:30 p.m.

If you are interested in volunteering at Hot Lunch, please attend the first PTO meeting on August 25th for further information.
