The Shower

Have you ever gotten locked in a shower before? Read this story to find out what happens when I was locked in the shower. Once at Lavalette, me and my cousins were getting ready to shower. They said โ€œNico you can go first.โ€ I said โ€œOk,โ€ but what l didnโ€™t know was that the inside lock was broken. So when I was done l yelled โ€œCan somebody open the door?โ€ But no one heard me. My aunt even thought l was a rooster! Luckily the neighbors heard me. They said, โ€œDo you have your clothes on?โ€ l said โ€yes.โ€ So they unlocked the door and l ran inside without talking to anyone. I was terrified. I hope it doesnโ€™t happen again.

The Missing Dog

In the driveway there was a dog. The dog that was not my dog. I didnโ€™t know where he came from. I had to solve the mystery. The detectives are my dad, my mom, Cooper, Leo, and me too. First off, one guy put his dog in my driveway. So I was trying to find his house because his footprints were on the ground. I found his house and I said โ€œDo you want your dog back because you put your dog on my driveway?โ€ He said "No!โ€ I asked him why he didnโ€™t want his dog back. He told me that his dog was dirty and he did not want a dirty dog. I gave the dog to the adoption center. It was a long day.

Fourth Grade Reads The Rising Tiger Fourth Grade Reads The Rising Tiger

Walking through the misty Florida woods one morning, twelve-year-old Rob Horton is stunned to encounter a tigerโ€”a real-life, very large tigerโ€”pacing back and forth in a cage. Whatโ€™s more, on the same extraordinary day, he meets Sistine Bailey, a girl who shows her feelings as readily as Rob hides his. As they learn to trust each other, and ultimately, to be friends, Rob and Sistine prove that some thingsโ€”like memories, and heartache, and tigersโ€”canโ€™t be locked up forever.

Simone Biles is 28 years old and was born on March 14, 1997. Simone is known for being one of the best gymnasts. Biles is a famous gymnast who followed her dreams.

Simone Biles has two sisters and one brother. Simone's mother was a drug addict and their dad was not around. Simone and her siblings went to a foster home called the Houston area. Soon later Simone and her siblings got adopted by her grandma and grandpa. In Simone's free time she trained a lot.

Good Character Good Character

โ€œItโ€™s okay to be who you are. Itโ€™s okay to be different. That difference is part of you, but itโ€™s not the only part of you.โ€

Olivia Zaidman

Ugly

Character

Being different is not always a bad thing. Today, all kids want to be alike and have popular items, but it is better to be the leader, stand up, and be yourself. In the story, Ugly by Robert Hoge, the main character, Robert, turns his tragic life story into something positive.

As the story went on I observed that Robert matured. He took his negative experiences and turned them into something joyful. In addition, Robert always looked towards the good in things and was optimistic. Robert faced challenges throughout his childhood. Robert was always different from others. His face was deformed. This is what caused these obstacles. As Robert grew older he took these conflicts less seriously. He wasnโ€™t a follower, he stood up for himself and was the leader.

To be a leader you need to be mature. This connects to the story Ugly by Robert Hoge because throughout the story I noticed that as Robert aged he continued to mature. At the beginning of the story when Robert was made fun of he took this very badly. As he grew older he was more positive about these things. To illustrate, when Robert was seven he was playing a game with his classmates. As he was throwing a ball he felt one of his artificial legs slip off his stump. This caused him to topple over and for the ball not to go very far. His classmates had started laughing at him. They called him Cripple. When Robert was young, he paid attention to the things others said. He let these negative comments get to him instead of not listening to them. As Robert began to mature he did not take others opinions of him as seriously. This shows in an interaction with his principal. Robert had gone so long without caring what people thought about him that he didnโ€™t think the principal was trying to hint something about his deformity, when she really was. He didn't ask more questions, he just walked out and let his life roll on. In summary, as Robert grew older his matureness towards teasing grew as well, which gave him the qualities of a leader.

To be a leader you need to be hopeful and have optimism, just like Robert did throughout his life in this story. I know that Robert is optimistic because when Robert was little he was never able to play a sport, but he never let that stop him. His parents were protective of him and would not allow him to play. Although Robertโ€™s parents did not authorize him to play as a kid. He was able to play when he got older. Robert tried out for lawn bowls and made the team! He succeeded in this sport. The author tells us that Robert succeeded by saying, โ€œWe stayed ahead for the rest of the game and my team won. I headed home a happy sportsman.โ€ This shows how Robert never gave up. As he grew older, he put his mind to lawn bowls and accomplished a lot while playing this sport. Overall, this explains that Robert has the qualities of a leader. He is able to stay positive when facing challenges.

To sum up, the story, Ugly by Robert Hoge, Robert turns his tragic life story into something positive. This is common today where most kids want to have trending items, when sometimes it is better to be different and be the leader. Have you ever felt different? Robert Hoge says, โ€œItโ€™s okay to be who you are. Itโ€™s okay to be different. That difference is part of you, but itโ€™s not the only part of you.โ€

Learning with Body and Ms. Katz!

Having a therapy dog visit a kindergarten classroom is a truly special experience that supports our district priority of building empathy. The gentle presence of a therapy dog helps children practice kindness, patience, and caring for others while feeling calm and safe. These visits create meaningful moments where students learn to understand emotions, show compassion, and strengthen their social-emotional skills. ๐Ÿพ
