A Note from the Dean A Note from the Dean

Hello Pioneers!

Academic Spotlight

It was a busy and productive week across 7th grade!

  • English: Students worked diligently on their research projects, focusing on gathered information and proper source citation.

  • Tech Ed: Hands-on learning was in full swing as students built working electrical circuits.

  • Science: Classes kicked off an exciting new unit on Cell Theory.

School Expectations Assembly

This week, we held grade-level assemblies to review school-wide behavioral expectations. Students were divided into groups to address specific trends we have observed:

  • Boys Assembly: Reemphasized the importance of personal space, keeping hands to ourselves, and avoiding rough play/play fighting.

  • Girls Assembly: Focused on fostering positive peer relationships, stopping gossip and rumors, and eliminating negative self-talk or peer dialogue.

  • All Students: Reviewed appropriate hallway behavior during class transitions and stressed the importance of arriving at school and every class on time.

Upcoming Field Trip: Volunteers Needed!

We are heading to the National Museum of the United States Army at Fort Belvoir on December 17th from 9:30 AM to 3:00 PM!

We are actively seeking parent chaperones to join us. If you are interested, please complete the volunteer application form and return it to the school. If you prefer a paper copy, please email me directly and I will send one home with your student.

Hispanic Heritage Family Night Recap

Thank you to the roughly 150 participants who joined us for Hispanic Heritage Family Night! It was a fantastic evening of celebrating culture with great food, vibrant dancing, and fun crafts.

Battle of Route 7 Tickets

On October 16th, we will host the Battle of Route 7 game at Dominion High School!

  • Presale Tickets: To skip the long lines on game day, students can purchase tickets before school in B House or during lunch this week ($5, cash only).

  • At the Gate: Tickets will also be sold at the gate on game day ($5, cash or credit card accepted).

Thank you for your continued support! I am looking forward to another wonderful week ahead. As always, please reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
