📘 Title I, Part A 📘 Title I, Part A

Washington County Public Schools receives Title I, Part A funds to support student learning and ensure all children have a fair, equitable, and high-quality education. The following schools receive Title I, Part A funds: Bester Elementary, Eastern Elementary, Hickory Elementary, Jonathan Hager Elementary, Lincolnshire Elementary, Pangborn Elementary, Ruth Ann Monroe Primary, and Salem Avenue Elementary. A key part of Title I is partnering with families—because when schools and families work together, students succeed.

🧩 What Is Title I? 🧩 What Is Title I?

Title I, Part A is a federal program that provides extra support to schools with higher numbers of students who may need additional academic assistance. These funds help improve teaching and learning, strengthen family engagement, and support student success.

🌈 Title I Supports 🌈 Title I Supports

Title I, Part A supports your child’s learning in many ways, including:

  • Extra help in reading and math
Your child may receive additional support in reading and math during the school day. This support helps students build important skills, gain confidence, and strengthen understanding at their own pace.

  • Small-group instruction
Students may work in smaller groups with a teacher or support staff. Small-group learning allows teachers to focus on specific skills, provide more attention, and better meet each child’s learning needs.

  • Learning materials sent home
Families may receive books, activities, or resources to use at home. These materials help families support learning beyond the classroom and reinforce skills your child is practicing at school.
