I also need your valuable feedback. If you have not already done so, please complete our school survey by clicking the link below:

Alvarado’s Advice Alvarado’s Advice

Cell Phones

Under our district's "Away for the Day" policy, which is also mandated by state law, all students are required to keep their cell phones and personal electronic devices turned off and stored away during the school day. We need your partnership in ensuring our students understand this expectation and the importance of adhering to it so we can maintain a focused, distraction-free learning environment. Please see the updated changes to our Cell Phone policies.

The NISD Special Education Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) will be hosting an upcoming parent education event, and we would greatly appreciate your help promoting it across your campus.

Understanding Anxiety, Burnout, and Mental Health in Neurodivergent Youth

Tuesday, October 6, 2026
6:00–7:30 PM
Vale Middle School
2120 N. Ellison Dr., San Antonio, TX 78251

Cathryn Westbrook, Ed.S., LSP, School Psychologist, will present practical, evidence-based strategies for recognizing anxiety, burnout, and dysregulation in neurodivergent youth and supporting resilience at home, school, and in the community.

Please help us promote this event by:

  • Sending the attached flyer to your campus families to encourage them to attend.
  • Sharing the flyer with your teachers and staff. Teachers can receive Teacher Exchange Hours for participating in the event.
  • Posting/hanging the flyer in appropriate locations around your campus where families and staff will see it.

Your assistance in getting the word out is greatly appreciated! Events like this provide families and school staff with valuable information and practical strategies to better support our students.

Thank you for helping us Make Their Day and for partnering with the Special Education PAC to connect families with meaningful resources and learning opportunities.
