Innovation Room Graciously Accepts Your Surplus
We’re gearing up for some hands-on creative projects and would love your help! If you have any extra craft supplies at home—such as tape, yarn, cardboard tubes, paper plates, egg cartons, or other recyclable materials—we’d be grateful for your donations. Thank you for supporting our little artists!
Musical Concert Updates, Grades Kindergarten thru 4th.
To give our students the best possible experience and stage time, we will be focusing this winter on performances by students in Grades 3 and 4 and our school Choir.
We understand that families of our younger students look forward to seeing them perform! Please know that our students in Kindergarten, Grade 1, and Grade 2 are working hard and will have their moment to shine during a separate, dedicated Spring Music Performance later this school year. More details about the spring performance will follow after the new year.
We are excited for the upcoming winter concert and look forward to sharing our students' musical talents with you!
Parental request for change in dismissal
As a reminder if you are changing the way in which your student will be going home for the day that information should be communicated in writing and sent with the student to the teacher. ( If sending an email, it must be sent prior to 12 Noon, and you must verify with a reply from the teacher the information has been received)
Student Planned Absence and vacation Forms
We have begun receiving request for student absence or vacation request. Please be sure to submit the following form for all pre-planned student absences.
Electronic Student Devices - cell phones and watches
As more students bring cell phones and watches with wi-fi and data capabilities, it is
important to remember and inform your children about the policy of using them while at
school. During school hours, students must keep the phone in the locker/cubby or
backpack and have it turned off. If a parent needs to contact their child or a child needs
to contact a parent, that communication must go through the school and in most cases
the main office. Watches are another area where communication may occur if wi-fi or
data are enabled. Students may wear watches and use the watches for time telling
purposes or tracking their steps and other non-communication purposes. However, if
students and parents are using the watch to call and text each other, those devices will
be viewed more for communication and will be asked to be put away each day like a cell
phone. Thank you for your attention to this matter and following these rules.
Updated Choir Practice Times
September 23rd, 2025
Hello 3rd & 4th Grade Redwood Choir Parents/Guardians,
I hope you are doing well. We are so fortunate to have such a fantastic turnout for choir this year! This is the most students we have had for choir and we are so delighted that so many students are involved! Due to the large number of students in choir, we have decided it is in the best interest for the students to split rehearsals between 3rd and 4th grade.
Beginning Monday, September 29th and for the remainder of the year:
-3rd grade choir will meet Mondays before school at 8am
-4th grade choir will meet Mondays after school from 3:30-4:15pm (note end time at 4:15)
Thank you for your understanding and flexibility as we continue to support our wonderful students as they participate in choir.
Best,
Bethany Westphal
Note from the Nurse
Notes from the Nurse:
It’s cold and flu season, which means viruses are on the rise!🤒 I wanted to take the time to send home a few reminders for school attendance and what to be looking out for.
- If your child has diarrhea or vomiting within the past 24 hours, keep them home.
- If your child has a continuous or disruptive cough, keep them home.
- Temperature/fever above 100 F by mouth, keep them home. Students need to be fever free without the use of medication (Tylenol, Advil, Ibuprofen, Acetaminophen) for 24 hours before returning to school.
- Signs of conjunctivitis (Pink Eye) such as red, crusty or swollen eyes, keep them home.
Good health habits like covering your cough and washing your hands often can help stop the spread of germs and prevent respiratory illnesses from spreading in the classroom. If your child continues to be sick, please reach out to your pediatrician for further guidance. Our goal is to keep everyone as healthy as possible, we thank you for your cooperation at home as well.
