MOY Reading and Math MAP Growth
MAP Growth Middle of Year testing window is upon us. MAP testing in Reading and Math begins Dec 2 and testing closes Dec 20. This is an important assessment that the district takes as seriously as STAAR, informs interventions for MTSS, and is tied into the teacher incentive allotment program for some grade levels.
Please read and carefully review the MAP testing protocols and reminders: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1sqCSUyIzHWrUdim3ycgoKGyPv3iY1ez4cwvUgOJBI5Y/edit?usp=sharing
Teams should begin forming their plans for assessment and consulting with colleagues (Tiffany, Marcey, Sped teachers) on creating testing admin plans.
Team leaders, please notify admin team of your dates for administration.
Committee Meetings- Important
Campus wide committee meetings are on the 3rd Thursday of every month.
Teachers and staff will sign up and/or be assigned to serve on a number of committees/planning groups during the school year. Some of these meetings occur after school and some during the school day.
This is part of your responsibilities as an Austin ISD educator. Routine attendance is required and if you will be out for any reason, you are required to notify an administrator in advance.
MTSS Tier 2 RTI- Input Progress Monitoring for students in your Tier 2
Reminders:
1.. If there are district visitors we will refer to the RTI days/times you provided admin.
2. Please make sure you put in progress monitoring notes in CST every 2-3 weeks for students who have the goals in eCST. tea

Entering Academic Plans in ECST (How To)

How to Enter a Behavior Plan in eCST for Tier 2 students:
Active Playground Supervision by Staff
We need your help with active playground supervision when you are outside with your students during recess and WOW time.
We understand that recess can be a time for teachers to quickly huddle and touch base on pressing concerns, however, teachers and other staff need to spread out during the 30 minute recess period.
If you have students playing on the blacktop area (basketball hoops, four square, maps) to the left of the playground, a staff member/teacher needs to be positioned near this area.
Staff also need to be stationed near the Gaga pit/woods area.
Thank you for your support with this.
Teacher Steps to Request Counseling Support for Students
The counseling team has created a Google form for you to complete to notify them of any student who you feel would benefit from individual or small group counseling.
Please reach out to Allison Murphy, Elise Edwards or Candi Swarts if you have questions or need to problem solve any student challenges!
**For students with immediate mental health needs, please continue to Teams Elise, Candi, and/or Allison ASAP.

Safety on Campus
In light of the recent tragic school shooting in Georgia, we must continue to be as vigilant as ever with safety on campus.
Continued reminders:
1. Doors are shut and locked at all times. No exceptions. No propped door ever.
2. NEVER allow students to open classroom doors for people they don't know.
3. Active supervision. Make sure every single child under your wing is accounted for. Walk behind the class or beside the class so you can keep watchful eyes.
4. Playground and recess- all adults spread out to ensure we have eyes on all play areas.
5. See something, say something! Report all suspicious activity to admin and to the office. Never allow an individual to roam hallways without a visitors sticker.
