Connect to Kinder
Please tell your friends and neighbors about our upcoming Connect to Kinder event on April 9th from 5:30-7pm
Headlice
Springtime brings a peak in head lice cases, often called the "spring break spike," due to increased social activity, close-contact sports, and warmer weather encouraging more, and tighter, interactions. Prevention focuses on avoiding head-to-head contact, wearing hair up, and weekly checks, Head lice are tiny, crawling insects that live in the hair on your head. They lay eggs and bite your scalp, making it itchy. Lice are most common in younger or school-aged kids. Lice are treatable with special shampoos, creams or lotions.

TAG UPDATE
The application window for Single Subject Acceleration in Math (SSA-M) runs from March 1st through the 31st. This program is designed for exceptional cases in grades 2–4 in which students have already met all of the math standards for the following grade level, though they have not been exposed to them in school. This ensures an appropriate rate and level of learning for students whose needs cannot be met by the standard curriculum.
In 24-25 (let me know if you want exact numbers for your school) 14% of students demonstrated the needed proficiency to accelerate by one grade level in math. If you believe your child needs this advancement to address their current math level, checking in with your child’s teacher before applying is a great idea to discuss their current progress. Please be sure to submit an application during the upcoming window if you believe SSA is right for your child.

BINGO!
What a night! The prizes, the snacks, the amazing callers...the community showed up for such a fun evening. A huge shout out to the callers who kept the bingos coming: Adam Menedez, Kelly Jacobs, Jake Dockter and Michael Bendixen. The amazing committee who made sure it all came together: Allison Bendixen, Heather Braga, Francesca Cronan, Jake Dockter, Mara Huffman and Jaime Casta Mah. Events like this wouldn't be possible without the volunteers who helped set up, serve snacks, hand out prizes and clean up at the end. Finally, a ginormous thank you to the chair who brought BINGO back to Lewis, Kristine Simpson! This event came together SO easily and that is entirely due to Kristine's leadership, enthusiasm for Bingo and kind heart.
