Our Treasures Within

In this inspired work, best-selling children's book creators Peter H. Reynolds and his twin brother Paul use their art and storytelling to keep Pope Francis's uplifting and transformational messages touching lives for generations to come.

Artfully blending and illuminating Pope Francis's words, Our Treasures Within speaks to hearts young and old. Page by page, this picture book invites us on a journey of self-discovery to discern our own gifts―and ponder how we will use them to make the world a better place.

Inspired by a virtual gathering held by Pope Francis with children across the globe, Our Treasures Within shines a light on the special gifts within each of us and inspires us to share them with the world.

In a picture book that is both timely and timeless, the wisdom of Pope Francis is brought to life by the combined efforts of Paul A. Reynolds and his twin brother, The New York Times best-selling author and illustrator Peter H. Reynolds. Children and families are invited to unearth the treasures buried inside themselves, celebrate those gifts, and use them to make the world a more hopeful place for everyone.

A book to cherish, return to, and share, Our Treasures Within gently reminds us that we already carry everything we need to live lives of meaning and love. Our life’s work is to discover those gifts, to share them, and to witness how they ripple outward and transform the world.

Preorder a copy of this collaboration by Pope Francis and the Reynolds brothers, signed by our friends Peter and Paul. It will be shipped after January 20.

In each one of you there is a chest, a box, and inside there’s a treasure. Your job is to open the chest and pull out the treasure, make it grow, give it to others, and receive the treasure of others. We all have a treasure inside of us. If we keep it closed, it stays closed; if we share it with others, the treasure multiplies with the treasures that come from others.

What I want to tell you is: do not hide the treasure which each one of you has. Sometimes it’s easy to find, sometimes you must go on a treasure hunt, you don’t find it immediately. But once you find it, share it! Because, through sharing it, you receive from another and it multiplies. This is what I want to tell you, boys and girls: Go forward! What you do in the place where you are also helps us all to understand that life is a beautiful treasure, but it only makes sense when we give it. Thank you!
