Falcon Weekly Bulletin
Week of Monday, February 3rd - Sunday, February 9th, 2025
📣 Families! Here's What's Happening This Week:
Dear Andrew P. Hill Families,
Happy February! This month, we proudly celebrate Black History Month, a time to honor the rich history, culture, and contributions of Black individuals throughout history and in our communities today. At Andrew P. Hill, we believe that diversity is our strength. Recognizing and embracing the diverse backgrounds of our students and families helps create a more inclusive and vibrant learning environment where everyone feels valued and seen.
In addition to Black History Month, we are excited to celebrate Multicultural Week this week. Our students have been working hard to showcase the beauty of our diverse cultures through various activities and events. We will culminate the week with a spirited Multicultural Rally on Thursday, where students will share performances and displays that reflect their cultural pride and heritage.
As part of Black History Month, we encourage families to engage in conversations at home about the significant achievements of Black leaders, artists, scientists, and activists who have shaped history and continue to inspire us today. Learning about figures like Martin Luther King Jr., Rosa Parks, Maya Angelou, and many others helps us understand the importance of equity, justice, and the ongoing fight for civil rights.
Please note that we have late start days this week and next week. This provides students with additional rest and staff with valuable time for professional development.
Thank you for your continued support. Let's make this February a month of learning, celebration, and unity.
- Miss Hoang

Spotlight on A. Phillip Randolph
In 1925, A. Philip Randolph established The Brotherhood of Sleeping Car Porters (BSCP), the first nationally recognized Black labor union in the United States.
Under Randolph's leadership, the BSCP expanded its mission to advocate for broader social and economic justice, paving the way for the modern Civil Rights Movement. Randolph went on to organize the famous March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom in 1963.
